Celebrating the Most Ludicrous Moments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4

Celebrating the Most Ludicrous Moments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4

June 3, 2026

Welcome to Phase 4 Madness!

So, after the epicness of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios found itself at a bit of a crossroads. It was like they had this huge party to plan, but the guests were already hungry for more entertainment (thanks, Disney+!). Who could blame them? Marvel had to shake things up and start fresh, which led to some hits, some misses, and a few moments that made us all scratch our heads in disbelief.

Ray Winstone’s Accent Adventures

Let’s start with Ray Winstone in Black Widow. If you haven’t heard his attempted Russian accent, well, brace yourselves! It’s like he ordered a dialect online and received something completely different. Picture a Cockney mixed with a South African—definitely “not Russian”! His performance had us chuckling uncontrollably, and even his dialect coach found it curiously captivating. Maybe he was just trying to be the world’s first British-Russian hybrid villain?

Harry Styles? Why Not!

Next up, we have the gem that is Eternals, which bravely introduced Harry Styles as Starfox. This might have been the first time a Marvel film felt like a celebrity cameo episode of a sitcom! His introduction was so shiny and distracting, it was like someone turned on a disco ball right in front of you. Starfox and his buddy Pip the Troll didn’t quite set the world on fire, but I’m ready to see any wild stunt casting Marvel can throw our way now. Britney Spears, anyone?

Thor’s Weapon Drama

Then, there’s Thor: Love and Thunder. Thor’s axe, Stormbreaker, got a bit jealous about Mjolnir coming back into his life. Yes, you read that right! Thor chatting with his weapons like they’re his in-laws? Hilarious! It’s one of those moments that you either love or hate, but hey, it made for some genuine laughs.

Shang-Chi and the Giant Dragon

How about Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings? The film culminated in a magnificent showdown with our hero riding a giant mystical dragon. Huh? By this point, I was half-convinced the writers were just throwing darts at ideas, but you know what? I loved every ridiculous minute of it! Seriously though, who doesn’t want to see a dragon do battle?

Kaiju in Cairo

And let’s not forget the kaiju fight in Moon Knight! It’s not every day you see towering Egyptian gods battling in the skies above Cairo. It was chaos, destruction, and a bit of fun mixed in. And while no one talks about it afterward (why would they?), it was one of those moments that makes you giggle with glee.

Red Means Go?

We can’t skip over Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This movie had moments that left me scratching my head—even for a Marvel flick. A nostalgic pizza ball moment only to reveal that in the multiverse, red means go? I mean, come on! The mind boggles.

Fixing Boats and Making Friends

How about that notorious boat-fixing scene in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier? Talk about an unexpected bonding moment! Sure, they were facing some serious issues with a villain and the fate of the world, but let’s take a minute to appreciate their DIY skills. Because nothing says “hero” quite like a boat renovation montage!

The Mask That Wasn’t

Finally, Baron Zemo returns briefly wearing that iconic purple mask. But it was for, like, 30 seconds—definitely not enough for fans of the character! Such a tease! Hopefully, we’ll get to see more of it in the future, because it’s always exciting to see a well-loved villain strut their stuff.
