How Robert Pattinson’s Zendaya Connection on The Drama Might Have Led to Dune 3
Lights, Camera, Dune!
Welcome to the wild and wonderful world of Zendaya! This iconic actress has been strutting her stuff in the Dune movies, and boy, does she have some feelings about it. During a recent shindig to unveil the Dune: Part Three trailer, she opened up about what these films mean to her.
“These movies have been a huge part of my life!” Zendaya gushed. “I practically grew up in my 20s filming them, so they hold a special spot in my heart — and all these amazing folks around me, too!” Of course, she was surrounded by a star-studded crowd including director Denis Villeneuve and co-star Javier Bardem, as well as some newbies like Anya Taylor-Joy and the one and only Robert Pattinson.
Pattinson’s Path to Arrakis
Now, here’s where things get interesting: Robert Pattinson, in all his quirky glory, revealed that his experience during the filming of The Drama might just be what paved his way to Dune. “I literally flipped for these movies! I watched them on repeat in theaters!” he exclaimed. “While chatting with you [Zendaya] on set, I asked, ‘How do I score a role in one of those Dune flicks?”
For those of you wondering, The Drama is this delightful dramedy from A24, helmed by writer-director Kristoffer Borgli, and it’s got a touch of quirky magic. Sure, you might not instantly connect it to Dune, but Zendaya, with her playful wit, said when Pattinson inquired about the Dune series, she cheekily responded, “I know a guy!”
The Call That Changed Everything
Fast forward a few months, and guess what? Pattinson got that unexpected call! “When the offer came from Villeneuve, I thought, ‘No way! This has to be thanks to Zendaya!’” he admitted, grinning like a Cheshire cat.
Zendaya, quick on the uptake, pointed the finger back at Villeneuve. “He’s the real genius here,” she said with a laugh. But come on — having a super cool co-star like Zendaya in your corner definitely doesn’t hurt! After all, this dynamic duo has three movies hitting the screens this year. They kick things off with The Drama, move on to the intriguing The Odyssey directed by Christopher Nolan, and then wrap it up with the highly anticipated Dune: Part Three.
