VisionQuest Introduces a New Young Avenger – Speed!

Young Avengers Assemble!

Ladies and gentlemen, grab your capes and your snack packs! The Marvel Cinematic Universe has not one, but TWO rosters of Avengers running around, and trust me, they might throw a few punches at each other quite soon! We’ve already heard the buzz around Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts. But what’s this? A gaggle of young heroes getting ready to strut their stuff in the upcoming series as the New Avengers clash with Sam Wilson’s team? Count me intrigued!

The Marvel Family Expands

In the grand finale of The Marvels, we saw Ms. Marvel and Kate Bishop (a.k.a. Hawkeye) plotting against the evils of the universe while in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, we were introduced to the size-changing hero known as Stature. And let’s not forget Agatha’s catchy little jingle from Agatha All Along, which gave us Billy, a.k.a. Wiccan, with a side of magical pizzazz!

Meet Tommy – The Speedster!

Now, drumroll please! The latest posters for the highly anticipated series VisionQuest are here, and they come packed with surprises galore. Not only do we get Vision and Ultron (and yes, they’re sporting some human touch!), but we also have the latest member of the Young Avengers joining the fray: Tommy, or as he loves to call himself, Speed! And hold on tight; he’s played by the ever-so-talented Ruaridh Mollica!

Questions, Questions!

If you’re scratching your head wondering where all these characters are popping up from, you’re not alone! Remember WandaVision? Because you need to! Our girl Wanda created those twins, Billy and Tommy, using her hex powers. However, when Monica Rambeau swooped in, Wanda had to face the reality that those kiddos were nothing but a figment of her imagination.

And to add more fuel to the fire, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness revealed that Wanda was hopping through realities like it was a game of hopscotch looking for her kids. Spoiler alert—they don’t exist in the main universe, which leaves us with the mystery of how Tommy came to be!

Comic Book Shenanigans!

Time to jump to the comic books where the twins made their flashy debut in 1986 in The Vision and the Scarlet Witch #12. These babies were made from snippets of Mephisto’s soul—how’s that for a wild origin story? They eventually got absorbed back by Mephisto like a weird cosmic vacuum and were unfortunately erased from Wanda’s memory. However, when the Young Avengers hit the stage in 2005, Billy was there in the spotlight, and guess who joined him later? You got it: Tommy, a.k.a. Speed.

In comic land, these twins didn’t just fade away gracefully—thanks to Immortus (that’s Kang the Conqueror’s teenage version, by the way) and some mystical crystal business, they were resurrected, initially taking on new identities as Billy Kaplan and Tommy Shepherd. It’s like they pulled off an elaborate identity heist!

Where Will Tommy Fit In?

Now, don’t be surprised if VisionQuest gets a bit brain-bending involving resurrected Vision, a bearded Ultron, and a few head-scratchers along the way. But hey, all this convoluted storytelling is paving the way for the Young Avengers, and that’s pretty nifty! With Doctor Doom lurking about, the heroes are going to need every last bit of help they can muster!

Mark Your Calendars!

Don’t you dare forget—the show hits Disney+ on October 14, 2026! Set your reminders and get ready for the ride, folks!
