Street Fighter Trailer Is Just Weirdos Battling Each Other, As It Should Be

Get Ready to Rumble!

Back in 1994, Universal decided it would be a grand idea to drop a cinematic bombshell called Street Fighter. Imagine a bunch of United Nations forces trying to tackle a warlord who’s just out there trying to live his best life by creating a new country. Yep, that’s the plot, and shocker, they named it after a video game! But we’re not here to unpack that insanity.

What’s New in the Latest Trailer?

Fast forward to 2026, and we’re treated to a new trailer that seems to get back to the glorious chaos of the game. Instead of serious war diplomacy, what do we have? A riot of colorful kooky characters just blooding up the screen with their wacky moves! Okay, okay, there’s some drama about losing your way and a friend coming back into the mix, but honestly, we’re just here to see the madness unfold!

Meet the Players

This time, it’s director Kitao Sakurai at the helm, teamed up with T.J. Fixman to pen down this zany script. Noah Centineo is stepping into the shoes of Ken Masters while Andrew Koji is set to throw down as Ryu. These two guys have had quite the falling out—think high school musical drama turned martial arts showdown. But guess what? They might find their groove again thanks to the fabulous Chun-Li, played by Callina Liang, or maybe because they just can’t resist the call of a good ol’ tournament hosted by that classic bad guy, M. Bison.

Plot? What Plot?

Let’s be real, the storyline is as thin as a phyllo pastry, but that’s what makes Street Fighter not your average shoot-‘em-up flick. It’s a wild ride based on a game filled with zany graphics, and we are here for it. Unlike previous adaptations that tiptoed around actually showing the promised brawls, this latest film seems to go all in, finally giving us what we crave—epic smackdowns!

Bring on the Colorful Crazy!

Character design? Absolutely bonkers! We’ve got Cody Rhodes sporting a hair-do that looks like he glued a blond flattop on after an all-night bender. Then there’s 50 Cent stepping into the ring as Balrog with a hairstyle that begs for mercy. And don’t forget Jason Momoa making a splash as Blanka, looking like he wandered off the set of The Hunger Games, wearing green and orange like a wild savage!

We Just Want Action!

If this movie becomes a string of scene after scene of these eccentric characters fighting it out, all from a wide shot because why not? We’d be living our best lives. But what really gets our adrenaline pumping is that Sakurai is not just setting the stage but is ready to give us some crazy camera work that’ll leave our eyes wide and our popcorn flying! Throw in a character arc or a tender moment? Sure, why not, as long as it doesn’t derail the punchy fun.

Mark Your Calendars!

So there you have it, folks! Street Fighter is revving up for a wild fight night on October 16, 2026! Don’t miss it, or you’ll be missing out on the weirdest, wildest brawl to grace the silver screen!
