Ready or Not 2 Trailer Promises a Neo-Scream Queen Team Up

December 3, 2025

Intro to the Madness

Picture this: our heroine Grace, played by the extraordinary Samara Weaving, is cornered by a wildly dysfunctional family who just happens to enjoy hunting down their new relatives for sport. In the first movie, she lets out a scream that sounds like a mix between a banshee and a dolphin having an existential crisis. There’s no denying that this moment solidified her status as a modern Scream Queen.

What’s Brewing in the Sequel?

Now we’ve got the teaser for the upcoming flick, appropriately named Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. It brings back that gloriously weird scream, AND introduces us to Grace’s little sister, Faith, played by the fabulously talented Kathryn Newton. If you didn’t know, Kathryn’s got her own set of horror chops from her previous gig in Abigail, directed by the same geniuses behind Ready or Not. Together, they’re kicking off a whole new wave of fierce female terror in the horror genre. Ladies, this is how we carry on!

The Plot Thickens

So, where do we pick up? Right after the rollercoaster of chaos that was the first movie! Grace, after tying the knot with Alex Le Domas (Mark O’Brien) on his family’s terrifyingly opulent estate, finds out her husband’s family gained their wealth by making a deal with the spook-tacular Mr. Le Bail. Think of it as a twisted version of Monopoly, but instead of losing your chance to play, you actually lose your life if you don’t play by the rules. Grace gets thrown into a high-stakes game of Hide ‘n Seek, but spoiler alert: it’s not your average backyard fun.

And… They’re Back!

In the new trailer, Grace not only survives the wild family reunion but also watches them explode into a delightful mess (like overly ripe water balloons) because they couldn’t keep up their end of the deal. Talk about a family reunion gone wrong! Just when she thinks it’s finally over, a new rich dude (who suspiciously looks like Elijah Wood) shows up ready to remind her that the hunt is far from finished. Now, they’ve got their eye on Grace and her sister Faith, making the game a family affair. Who doesn’t love a little sibling rivalry with a lethal twist?

A Star-Studded Cast

And let’s not forget the glitzy cast—Sarah Michelle Gellar, Néstor Carbonell (ready to bring some serious Batmanuel vibes), and the horror visionary David Cronenberg are joining in on this madness. Plus, we can’t ignore the scene where Grace is attacked in the hospital; it eerily mirrors Laurie Strode’s struggles in the ’80s classic Halloween II. Talk about iconic!

Who Takes the Crown?

Ah, the Scream Queen legacy! The term has evolved since Fay Wray’s frightened screams in King Kong. But if we’re honest, Jamie Lee Curtis reigns supreme as the ultimate Scream Queen, having survived Michael Myers’ wrath again and again. With all the hype around new horror films, it’s time for a new generation to claim the throne. If Kathryn delivers a sound that could send chills up our spines as well as Grace did, we might be looking at the future of horror royalty.
