Jeremy Renner Promises Hawkeye Season 2 Is on the Way
What Happened to Hawkeye?
So picture this: late in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Clint Barton, our favorite bow-and-arrow-wielding Avenger, takes a moment to ponder his life choices. He tells a freaked-out Wanda Maximoff, “Hey, the city is defying gravity, I’m battling a robot army, and I’ve got a mere bow and arrow here! This is utterly bonkers!” Let’s be honest, it’s a bit strange for a regular Joe with a quiver to team up with gods and super soldiers, isn’t it?
Jeremy Renner’s Optimism
Now, you might think that since Hawkeye aired its first season ages ago (like four years back!), it’s time to bid farewell to our quippy archer. But hold your horses! Jeremy Renner, the man behind the bow, insists that our beloved hero is not done yet. When asked about the chances of Hawkeye getting a second season during an exclusive chat on the podcast Bingeworthy, Renner was bubbling with positivity. “You bet we’re trying to whip up the second season! I’m aiming to get fit enough to pull this off. It’ll be awesome, trust me!”
The MCU and Its Drama
Speaking of dramatic moments, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is going through a bit of a rough patch. They aren’t quite the pop culture sensation they used to be, and fans have mixed feelings about the TV series putting on the breaks. Rumors are swirling that Marvel might trim down its output, especially for those shows meant for Disney+. Ouch!
Why Hawkeye Stands Out
But wait a minute! Just like WandaVision and Loki, Hawkeye is still seen as one of the diamonds in the MCU’s rough TV treasure chest. The six-episode rollercoaster not only showcased Clint Barton in a better light—because let’s face it, dude often gets overshadowed by the flashy Avengers—but also introduced us to Kate Bishop, the cool new Hawkeye, and even brought the notorious Kingpin Wilson Fisk into the mix!
Looking Back at Hawkeye
Since Hawkeye wrapped, Kate Bishop has popped up in a post-credit scene in the eagerly awaited The Marvels. Plus, Maya Lopez even got her own series (which, let’s admit, didn’t exactly set the world on fire) with Echo. Despite its mixed reviews, fans still adore Hawkeye for its fun-loving vibe.
Renner’s Thoughts on the Series
Jeremy reminisced about the series, saying, “I had a blast shooting this thing because it felt so personal. There was this family vibe to it that’s super important for Clint. To me, Clint’s superpower is his human side. He doesn’t have fancy powers, but his resilience and loyalty make him a special kind of hero. Plus, we were doing all this during the holiday season in New York — what’s not to love?”
The Chance of Season 2
And there you have it, folks! Part of what keeps the dream of a second season alive is its holiday charm — who can resist the thought of Barton and Bishop tearing through NYC during Christmas? So, is that enough for Marvel to give Hawkeye season 2 the green light amidst all this chaos? Only time will tell, but if I were a betting person, I wouldn’t count out our brave archer just yet!
