Daredevil Star Shoots Down Fan Theory About Beloved Character’s Return
Daredevil’s Detective Skills vs. Fan Theories
No one can pull the wool over Matt Murdock’s eyes! This guy’s got enhanced senses, thanks to a childhood accident that left him without sight. And let me tell you, his hearing is sharper than a ninja with a new sword. Matt can hear your heartbeat from across the room, which is pretty handy for his night gig as the caped crusader known as Daredevil, right?
But let’s not forget his day job as a defense attorney where he uses those sweet skills to figure out who’s lying and who’s just nervous because they remembered the pizza is still in the oven.
The Fan Theory That Shook the Internet
At a recent convention in Monterrey, Nuevo León, our favorite Daredevil, Charlie Cox, had a big ol’ smile on his face when asked about a theory making the rounds: that Matt’s best buddy, Foggy Nelson, might actually still be alive! Now, I mean, come on, even Matt’s superhero hearing can’t help him here. Charlie chuckled and said, “But Daredevil heard his heart stop. He’s dead.” Sorry, folks!
Charlie was asked his thoughts about Foggy popping up in the MCU, and he had to break the news while wearing a frown upside down: “I’m sorry, I’m very sad. I love that theory, but it’s wrong,” he exclaimed, gleefully grinning at the crowd. (He was probably still thinking about that pizza).
Foggy Nelson: The Comeback Kid
Now, for those who may not be familiar, Foggy, played by Elden Henson in the Netflix series, is Matt’s oldest pal and his partner in their barely-thriving law firm. Initial scripts for the Disney+ revival series, Daredevil: Born Again, didn’t even include Foggy or Karen Page. But fans flipped tables with excitement when those characters were later added back into the mix! However, the joy didn’t last long because *spoiler alert* – within moments, Foggy is out of the running, thanks to Bullseye’s unkind greeting.
The Many Lives of Foggy
In the grungy world of Daredevil, death usually means death. But let’s remember, these are comic book legends we’re dealing with! In the Marvel Universe, nobody stays dead forever, and Foggy is no exception! He made his grand debut alongside Matt and Karen back in 1964’s Daredevil #1, turning into the ultimate best friend who constantly found himself in sticky situations. He nearly bit the dust a few times, like in the “The Devil in Cell-Block D” storyline. However, it turned out he was in witness protection after a close encounter with an assassin (talk about a plot twist!).
Fast forward to more recent adventures – Foggy had cancer, supposedly kicked the bucket, only to orchestrate an elaborate fake-out to escape Leap Frog, his nemesis. And, oh boy, he even went to Hell once (thanks to some ninja nonsense) which forced Daredevil to play the hero and rescue him from the underworld.
So What’s Next for Foggy?
With all this history, why wouldn’t fans hold out hope for a Foggy return in season two of Daredevil: Born Again? Elden Henson himself has confirmed he’ll be turning up on the show, which raises more questions than answers. Will we see Foggy in flashbacks? Or could he miraculously appear to help Daredevil in his epic showdown against Wilson Fisk?
Despite Charlie Cox’s downer of a statement, it’s hard to shake off the feeling that we might not have seen the last of Foggy. But can we really trust what an actor says about plot twists? That’s the million-dollar question we can’t answer—thanks to our lack of superhero hearing!
So, mark your calendars, folks! Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is launching on Disney+ on March 4, 2026! Let’s not miss the chance to see if Foggy will make his triumphant comeback!
