Plot Summary: Set in the 1920's, when a doctor, Walter (Norton), in China discovers that his wife, Kitty (Watts), is having an affair, he moves them to a remote village to fight a cholera outbreak. Over time, the two become closer than ever, as Kitty begins a "journey of self-discovery."
