Tanman32123: The Conjuring is a genre of film that I believe for the most part isn't easy to make (Succesfully). Mainly because of all the cliches that exist now. But this film came past that and actually did a terrific job.
Being a huge Horror film fan and watching many have made me notice and hate certain things that people do in horror films. Such as the "Loud noise scare". Which i fucking hate. You didn't scare me, The noise did. This film doesn't have to much of that, It's just freaky.
Although I'm sure the story differs considerably from the actually "True Story" events, it does in fact tell a good story and tells the events (From what I've heard) Well. I Quite enjoyed the film and I'm sure as long as you have an open mind, You will as well.
Thanks for reading.

cress: Damn, James Wan, you surprised me! I wasn't expecting much from the guy who directed SAW, a film I didn't like. But THE CONJURING delivers great chills, scares, creepiness, and it's well-directed.
It's essentially a bit like POLTERGEIST, but supposed to be based on a true story. Farmiga and Wilson are a married couple who rid homes of poltergeists. Their story is intertwined with the story of a family who moves into a really wicked house. About an hour into the film, their stories merge as they help this family with their haunted home.
I thought the pacing and editing between the two different storylines was perfect. It provides a smart way of delivering the backstory for the Farmiga/Wilson characters. The difference between a film like this and the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY films is that (1)this is a film, not a gimmick disguised as a film(2)you get to see some ghosts; not just loud noises(3) good fucking acting and directing.
I'd highly recommend this for fans of horror films. It has a great soundtrack as well, and is my surprise for summer 2013.

Rambo: another generic horror movie - you have it all,the squeaky door , the ghost behind the door/closet , demons etc. etc.
Looks like James Wan was a one hit wonder with the brilliant first 'saw' which also had one of the best twists in histroy of filmmaking but ever since then he made mediocre or shitty movies like 'The conjuring'.

Kameron-C: I must say that "The Conjuring" is way better than those cheesy modern-day supernatural and found footage flicks such as "Dark Skies", "Paranormal Activity 3", and that list goes on. I know this user review is late because I haven't had a chance to see it in theaters or rent it in time because I've been busy.
Thank you for reading this review.
