cress: A very good film that is a bit of a slow burn in the beginning, but once the twist occurs it picks up steam and finishes strong.
I like Soderbergh a lot. He's not a director that uses a lot of heavy-handed camera movements. He frames his shots, then saturates them in vivid(or not-so-vivid) hues. His style can sometimes come off as cold or detached, but he balances his artistic choices by letting the actors be even more vivid. HAYWIRE was a misfire, CONTAGION serviceable, and this film a nice send-off for his last theatrical release.
The performances are all great, especially Jude Law. He shines in this, and it's nice to see at least one director in Hollywood recognizes his immense talent (Guy Ritchie not withstanding).
Don't give up on it early. Wait for it...wait for it...then you should be pleasantly surprised.
