Tanman32123: Saw this film last night, Was very well done, they didnt add too much humor, Obviously because they wanted a more serious horror film. It wasn't cheesy, It was graphic and filled with great gore.
And remember you can only make an arm being ripped off seem so real, so you can't really bash that.. I liked the ending, the twists and just about everything. Even the script was good.
They have this one fucking badass character, you'll know him when you see him, Get get EVERYTHING done to him and just completely gets fucked up and keeps fighting back, Lmao what a tank..

cress: This isn't a bad movie. It just isn't too scary, but it is gory as hell. The problem I see with a film like this nowadays is that there have been so many variations of this theme since the original EVIL DEAD. The recently released CABIN IN THE WOODS is a straight repack of EVIL DEAD, but it had a cool, interesting twist. It wasn't a great movie, but I liked what Whedon attempted with the story. So I think audiences are a little weary, battle-hardened to the "stupid teenagers alone in the woods being massacred" genre. It's hard to be fresh or creative in something that has been done to death, and most times very poorly. The director kept it serious, and had some nifty visual tricks and cinematography.
I thought the cast was average, but you don't really need great thespians to get their arms chopped off. The brother character was a shit actor, the worst of them all.
If you like horror films, and you haven't seen a good one a quite some time, well, this film probably won't quench your thirst. It's decent, with great gore and good direction.
