Spider-Man 4

 10/10

Peter Glass: Spider-Man 4 should be certified PG
by the BBFC because they rated the first movie and the third movie a 12A because they both contained strong fantasy voilence and moderate horror and they rated Spider-Man 2 a PG because it contained moderate fantasy voilence the fourth will contain moderate fantasy voilence and mild language

not sure?

the joker: I liked the first two but then the they ruined the third one with to many villians. But maybe they will look at the mistakes they made and do better with this one

You've got to be kidding me

pnkntndr: I am a huge Spider-Man fan and have been as far back as I can remember. I was very happy to hear that they were no longer making any Spidey films after the joke that was the third one. I thought they couldn't do worse then the second! The Lizard is a good move and Electro would be a great choice for another villian but Carnage??? They messed that option up by killing off Eddie Brock and Venom! Carnage is the one thing that brings Spider-man and Venom together as a team and would make for a great movie. Too bad they can't do that unless they use a bs movie magic move to bring him back to life!

The Black cat... Great choice, like Gwen Stacy, IF and only IF Mary Jane hadn't come into the picture yet!

Mary Jane and Spider-man also need a recast. MJ is supposed to be beautiful and not look like she has cancer. Parker continues to grow up and as an adult, no longer is that frail looking nerd he was in high school. The wise cracks out of Toby's mouth sound forced and really not funny. He's just not a good Spidey anymore.

It looks like it is going to suck!

Morpheus: If the idiots over at Marvel had a properly working minimum # of brain cells they would get James Cameron to direct this movie and let him have his crack at the epic story that which is Spider-Man, since it was him who was originally set to direct the first film. I don't like Sam Raimi at all so, at least they got rid of him but, is Marc Webb any better?! ...God forbid if he is no different or even worse!! I'm not saying he is a bad director, necessarily, but looking at his body of work doesn't fill me with inspiration & that is probably the one thing that looks the worst about this film right now.

An entirely new cast, & presumably and entire new crew, isn't a very good idea if you are going to have an unproven director, especially since they could actually end up being worse than the previous one, take the helm; I think it's practically criminal that they don't have James Cameron as the director for this installment of the franchise. And Tobey Maguire was close to perfect for the role so, to allow him to walk away was pretty stupid.

I don't have a lot of hope for this film.

Not better nor worse than the original

Slimer42: I'm glad to see a punk/nerdy Peter Parker in high school learning his skills. Also glad to see Norman Osborn being a villian behind-the-curtain controlling the villians on stage. That will work well for the next few movies until he realizes he's going to have to go out there and finish Peter Parker/Spider-Man himself.

not so amazing...

cress: I was going to give it a 4, but knocked it down to 3 and here's why. Sony clears the table, is going to start fresh with a reboot. Yet this is the best they could come up with after a five year break between films. Marc Webb was a terrible choice to direct. He can direct emotional close-ups of actors well, but everything else he is a goddamn amateurish bore. Everything involving Spiderman, the Lizard, action scenes, editing, and camerawork is so bland and uneven, I thought I was watching a fucking TV movie. And I know he was cheap and was easy for a studio to control, but did you have to get someone who has never worked with this genre before. He had no style or flair for the big set pieces. Just blandly shot. Just like the director of the Fantastic Four. And didnt we learn from those two shitty films? Guess not.

But he's only half the problem. The script is terrible. The Uncle Ben/Aunt May scenes have so much cheese in them, Kraft should get a paycheck. Peter's trip to Oscorp, the subsequent spider bite and transformation montage are lame. Dr. Connors/Lizard is a terribly written villian with stupid motivations("I hate humanity, I'll make everyone a reptile, goddammit!"). Oh, and lets go attack Peter at school, where it would be much harder to find him due to the hundreds of kids running around. You know where he lives; you know its with a little old aunt. Go there dipshit. But I guess if he went there, Doc Lizard wouldn't be able to create a makeshift bomb from mixing up chemicals in the chemistry lab and then throw it at Peter. Just stupid.

Please, get a better script for the sequel. And fire Marc Webb. I know the latter won't happen, and that's a shame. Because even if the sequel is marginally better, you will be two films in now without a great film to show for it. And this reboot idea will have been a massive failure. And I thought Spiderman 3 sucked. It's a masterpiece compared to this piece of FACKING SHITE.
