Mark Millar (Wanted) has been talking about doing a Superman movie for quite a while and claims that he has a popular American director ready to take over the franchise. At this point, Millar has pitched the idea to Warner Bros and is currently waiting for the studio's reply. If everything goes as planned, he is hoping to begin shooting by next summer.
"I've had this plan for like 10 years for a big three-picture Superman thing, like a big Lord of the Rings epic, starting over from scratch again with a seven-hour Superman story. And hopefully one year after the other," Millar told G4.
Warner Bros has mentioned that they would like to reboot the Superman franchise and might consider going into a darker direction. Millar claims to be the biggest Superman fan in the world, so why not give this guy a shot.

Ah, Millar, the most inconsistent comic book writer I can think of. He can do something special if he's passionate enough, but mostly, he writes fan boy stories for the fan boy crowd with very little meat on their proverbial bones.

Agreed, he needs to be watched by a strong director who steers him. Otherwise we get Wanted's level of intelligence, nuff said.

thats crap. keep it with singer. why do they have to reboot superman, just cause returns didnt bring in as much money as the dark knight. most critics really loved superman returns. its not like it failed in the box office. jeez, come on.
