Vin Diesel Planning a Marvel Villain FilmPosted: August 28th, 2008 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Vin Diesel is known for his action flicks and tough-guy roles, but he has yet to appear in a superhero movie. MTV News caught up with him to find out why that is, especially since he has previously been rumored for "Daredevil" and "Hellboy." Apparently, Diesel has already got something planned.
"I've been holding out and the reason why I've been holding out... I'm waiting to do where the protagonist is the villain," revealed Diesel. "I'm kind of done with the Marvel hero. What would be exciting to me and no one has come to me with, is a film about a villain that we're familiar with in Marvel and showing the complexities of... (interrupted)"
He declined to reveal which villain he is talking about, but added: "But I gave you a lot though. You won't see Vin playing the superhero. You'll see the film that says... (covers mouth jokingly)"
So, let's sum up the clues: 1) Marvel character. 2) Villain. 3) Protagonist. 4) Complex. Does anyone have any ideas?

Well, it couldn't be Venom; Sony already blew that character. Ditto for Doctor Doom as well, 20th Century Fox bunked him up real good. The key is the fact that it's a solo film. It's unlikely that he would develop a major villain that could appear in another, say, Fantastic Four (Super-Skrull) or X-Men (Avalanche) film. Chances are he's eyeing a relatively minor villain with major growth potential. I'm betting he'll choose someone along the line of Crossbones or Spymaster.

He's gonna be the Mac Gargan Venom. And he will lead the Thunderbolts to utter ass-suck like only Vin Diesel can.
Has he been in anything decent post-Pitch Black?

Omega Red from the X-Men comics. Omega Red is bad and he has a cool accent. Vin could pull it off.

... Can you say deadpool? Although I think Diesel would make a horrible deadpool, he's got the look pretty well down. Just add a few hundred scars and you're done.
