George Lucas to Turn "Star Wars" Films into 3-DSubmit Comment
Just when you thought that George Lucas couldn't squeeze another penny out of the "Star Wars" franchise, he finds a new way of getting you to empty your wallets.

ComingSoon caught up with DreamWorks Animations CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, who revealed that Lucas is looking to re-purpose the six "Star WarS" episodes into 3-D format. Katzenberg added that Lucas is extremely excited about this and that he's got the technical resources to pull it off.

"He isn't going to put a product out, I think, that isn't anything other than first rate," Katzenberg said.

Until Lucas finds the time and money to convert his films into 3-D, fans can satisfy their "Star Wars" addiction by checking out the animated "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" in theaters on August 15th. The new movie will also set up an animated series that will premier on Cartoon Network in the fall.

Wow after destroying a franchise I loved since childhood Lucas is at it again with his rape tactics by playing with 3D versions of this series? Get real and get lost. I will always, more than not, back any creator's choice for their properties, but Lucas is the first one I want to leave their properties alone. I thank the movie gods every time I know Steven is handling Indy overall, even if he couldn't stop the Tarzan scene in Skull which looks like Lucas' doing, but there is no apparent saving the Star Wars world is there. Look Lucas, give us a Blu-Ray box set of the original trilogy processed & formatted to get the best rated picture and sound with the option to see both Regular or Special editions of the episodes 4-6 and leave us alone.

i hate him. that's all there is to it. instead of at least attempting a new franchise, he's has to burn and destroy Indy and Star Wars over and over. He really wants me to kill him.
