Sigourney Weaver Considering Another "Alien" FilmPosted: July 5th, 2008 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Sigourney Weaver spoke to OK! Magazine, revealing that she would consider reprising her role as Ellen Ripley in another installment in the "Alien" franchise.
"I would definitely do another if I had a director like Ridley Scott and we had a good idea," she says of the classic sci-fi movies. "Ridley is enthusiastic about it."
Weaver, now almost sixty years old, first played Ripley at the age of thirty back in 1979. She went on to star in "Aliens" in 1986, "Aliens 3" in 1991 and "Alien: Resurrection" in 1997.
Weaver believes that if Harrison Ford and Sylvester Stallone can create a comeback, so can she. "I'm not going to start apologizing," she says of her age. "Sophia Loren is my inspiration. She is a woman who has never apologized for being herself."

Ms. Weaver's got nothing to apologize for. She's a fine actress, and characters don't suddenly cease to be interesting because they reach a certain age. (Though at this point in the movies, I'm not sure how you'd describe her character's age.)
