"Wanted" Sequel in the WorksPosted: May 3rd, 2008 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Pajiba got the chance to chat with "Wanted" writers, Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, who revealed that one of their upcoming projects is a "Wanted" sequel. "We've been hired to write the sequel to 'Wanted' by the same studio," said Haas, who has also provided the screenplay for "3:10 to Yuma."
This is a big move for Universal, since the first movie has yet to appear in theaters and while it stars Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman, there have been many negative views of the film. Fans have called it a rip-off of "The Matrix" and director Timur Bekmambetov's last projects, "Night Watch" and "Day Watch" films, are mediocre at best, even though they are some of the most successful movies in Russia.
The new $70 million movie will appear in theaters on June 27th with hopes of becoming a big summer blockbuster. It will likely make its money back, but I truly doubt that it deserves a sequel. We'll see.

everyone will see it as a ripoff, even though it isnt, because they didnt respect the source material and changed the plot from assasins that kill off superheroes to assasins that save the world...RESPECT THE SOURCE MATERIAL YOU DICKS
