Stephen King and Frank Darabont Talk "The Mist" and More

Stephen King and Frank Darabont Talk "The Mist" and MoreSubmit Comment
WorstPreviews attended a press conference, which was broadcasted all over the world, with Stephen King and director Frank Darabont, who were promoting their latest film "The Mist." While waiting for the duo to come in, all media outlets were told to sit down in their seats, so King can enter the room. At the end of the interview, he blasted out in a similar fashion. Darabont, on the other hand, stuck around and chatted with people. Either way, both men were incredibly cool and didn't mind sharing their views on "The Mist" and other films.

Several minutes in, Darabont revealed that he likes working with King, because of his big wang. King admitted that his wang is quite big, but not as big as it was when he was younger. After seeing puzzled looks on people's faces, they explained that King has a big word processor, made by the WANG company and to get our minds out of the gutter.

They went on to talk about some of the horror films out there. King mentioned that he loves "The Blair Witch Project," especially since it was so low budget. He also mentioned that while he enjoys the work of the Splat Pack, he feels that their movies are still a bit immature and lack character development.

The big question was whether King and Darabont would work together again. At this point, they have collaborated on four films, including "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Green Mile," and while there are no other projects that the two men have planned together, Darabont mentioned that he likes King's "The Long Walk," and has already secured the film rights to it. The plot revolves around a man who enters into a walking contest, where the winner gets anything he/she wants, while the losers are killed. The rules are simple: If you walk too slow, you get a warning, four warnings and you are shot. There is only one winner, and the story concentrates on a loosely held group of individuals that become friends and enemies during this inhumane walk.

King also mentioned that he is open to the idea of directing another movie; his first and only directorial gig was on "Maximum Overdrive."

At one point, a woman drops a spoiler from "The Mist," almost ruining the end of the movie for the large cyber audience. Fortunately, she was stopped before she revealed the entire thing. What was funny, is that minutes ago, King stated the following: "Frank wrote a new ending that I loved. It is the most shocking ending ever and there should be a law passed stating that anybody who reveals the last 5 minutes of this film should be hung from their neck until dead."
