First "Catch a Fire" TrailerPosted: August 9th, 2006 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

Here is the first trailer for the possible Oscar contender "Catch a Fire". In the trailer, you see one man's will to do the right thing, and live a good life, which turns upside down, creating a criminal and a terrorist. The film comes at a very appropriate time, and remind me of our current war in Iraq. Is our presence creating more terrorism, the same kind that we are trying to stop?
This film takes place during the 1980s, in the Apartheid era in South Africa. Patrick Chamusso (Derek Luke) has a newly acquired job at the Secunda Oil Refinery, and has no reason to be involved in anti-Apartheid movements. But when the oil refinery is stuck by terrorists, he becomes a suspect. He is arrested, interogated, and tortured. When he finds out that his wife was beaten, he falsely confesses, but is let go. Patrick becomes a changed man, joins the outlawed African National Congress (ANC), and volunteers to destroy the Secunda Oil Refinery all by himself.
In my opinion, this film could start many discussions. Is this Hollywood propoganda, or does this film tell a story of a man that was pushed too far. The only person that can figure that out, is yourself. So check out the trailer, and let us know what you think by commenting below.
"Catch a Fire" is directed by Phillip Noyce (Patriot Games, Sliver) and also stars Tim Robbins, who pulls off a great accent.
The film is a Focus Features production, and is scheduled to be released on October 27th, 2006.
