Bill Maher was a guest on Larry King Live! where he spoke about his upcoming religion documentary, which is being directed by Larry Charles (Borat).
The first thing Maher revealed is that the yet-to-be-named film might end up with a "Religulous" title, which is a combination of two words, "religion" and "ridiculous." It is a look at the current state of world religion, from an agnostic view.
"We talked to everybody," said Maher. "We went everywhere. We went to every place where there is religion. We went to Vatican City. We went to Jerusalem. We went to Salt Lake City. And I think I've insulted everybody!"
At this point, only about ten minutes have been shown to select audiences, and the film is still in the editing process. "But the ten minutes we've shown, and I've seen it shown to audiences twice, they laugh so hard because the topic of religion is just so inherently funny," added Maher.
The planned release date for the film is Easter. "I'd like it out right around the time people are celebrating the space man flying up to heaven," joked Maher.
