Amazing "Crank" Clip

Amazing "Crank" ClipSubmit Comment
With so much buzz around the film "Crank", there would be nothing better than to see a clip of it. Well, you're in luck. The clip shows Jason Statham flying in a car through a crowded mall only to end up on an escalator that I'm sure will take him to the second floor to do even more damage. I suggest listening to the phone conversation in the clip, as it explains pretty much the entire plot of the movie.

Chev, a hit man (Jason Statham) allowing his latest target to escape unscathed the night before, wakes up to an unpleasant surprise. A videotape informs him that he’s been poisoned with a “Beijing Cocktail” during his sleep. The toxin works on the adrenal gland leaving him with probably only an hour left to live, unless he can find a way to keep his adrenaline up. Since the videotape has also informed him that his girlfriend (Amy Smart) is in danger, Chev is now consumed by enough fury to keep him going for a while. In order to save himself and his girlfriend, he goes on a desperate, 24-hour rampage on the streets of Los Angeles, demolishing everything and everyone in his path, like a runaway train. His thirst for vengeance is enough to overpower the effects of the poison for some time, but ultimately, he cannot survive without an antidote.

This type of concept is nothing new in Hollywood, but the tough guy touch of Jason Statham will draw audiences to view the mayham that he will bring. Helmed by 2 novice directors, Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, who have also collaborated on the screenplay, possess a background in stunts and visual effects. They could have some innovative action sequences in store for the city of Los Angeles, but only time will tell if they can piece together a solid storyline. Lions Gate Films is set to release "Crank" in the theaters on September 1st, 2006.

That's the type of stuff I'm hoping for with this movie. An action movie with ideas like "a car going up an escalator in a mall." As long is it makes sense how it got there - brilliant.
