Moviehole reports that Angelina Jolie has been offered the chance to co-star with Pierce Brosnan in the upcoming sequel to "The Thomas Crown Affair." Didn't she promise to take a year off?
What role she will be playing is still unknown, but since Rene Russo will not return the second time around, a popular female lead became necessary. In an earlier interview Brosnan revealed that the new movie will have a different woman and a different affair.
The film is entitled "The Topkapi Affair," and was announced earlier as one of MGM's five core franchises, but than slowly slipped into development hell. Even Brosnan talked it up back in January. "Thomas Crown 2, for all intents and purposes, will happen. The script came in two days ago and it's good. We've announced it, we've said to the world that we're going to do it -- come hell or high water, we're going to do it. The bar is high on this one, the expectation is high on it."
