Here are some new pictures from the upcoming film "American Gangster." The movie is based on the true story of Harlem drug lord Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington), who smuggled heroin in the caskets of soldiers killed in Vietnam. He was eventually caught by New York detective Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe), who got Lucas to turn his talents toward catching the crooked cops and drug dealers who profited from his scheme.
The pictures show Washington with his own people plus one with Crowe, doing his part in helping catch some bad guys and avoid more jail time.
"American Gangster" is directed by Crowe's buddy Ridley Scott; the two have collaborated on "Gladiator" and "A Good Year." This film also re-unites Crowe and Washington after their work on the 1995 "Virtuosity." "American Gangster" hits theaters on November 2nd, 2007.
