Neil Gaimans Death Adaptation Moving ForwardSubmit Comment
According to Film ick, Neil Gaiman (author of "Stardust") is planning on directing his first feature film, which is an adaptation of his "Death: The High Cost of Living" mini-series. At this point Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth) has signed on as an executive producer.

As reported by earlier, Shia LaBeouf (Disturbia) has been confirmed for the male lead named Sexton Furnival. The rest of the cast has not been announced, including who will play Death/Didi, which is the female lead. In addition to this role, LaBeouf will also appear in another comic adaptation, entitled "Y: The Last Man." (read more)

In the "Death: The High Cost of Living" comic, the main character is a teenage girl named Didi, who at first appears to be an eccentric, orphaned goth, but who insists that she is Death personified. She guides a young male protagonist on a journey of self discovery.

The site adds that it is most likely that the film will shoot in late fall/early winter in the UK.
