"Disturbia" Still Number 1Posted: April 23rd, 2007 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

The box office results are in, and "Disturbia" still maintained to stay on top. Earning $10 million less than last weekend, "Disturbia," was able to capture the top spot, even with all the new releases. The film has now earned $40 million, in its two week run, which is already double its $20 million budget.
Coming in second place, was the Anthony Hopkins courtroom drama "Fracture." The film earned $11.2 million, but brought in $100 more per theater than "Disturbia." The Will Ferrell comedy "Blades of Glory" fell to third place, in its fourth week out, earning $7.8 million and brining its domestic total to $101 million. This is all on a $61 million budget.
Rounding out the top five were the horror film "Vacancy" and Disney's "Meet the Robinsons."
The film that did not really surprise anyone, was "Hot Fuzz." Opening in only 825 theaters, it took sixth place, and beat "Disturbia" by $2,500 per theater. This film will likely get a wider release next week.
Finally, "In the Land of Women" picked up momentum from Friday and ended up taking eighth place, but David Arquette's "The Tripper" failed miserably, earning 15 times less per theater than "Hot Fuzz." This might be the last we have seen of "The Tripper," before its DVD release.
