Danny Boyle to Shoot "Trainspotting" Sequel Next Summer

Danny Boyle to Shoot "Trainspotting" Sequel Next SummerSubmit Comment
Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours) recently revealed that his next project will be a sequel to his "Trainspotting" movie. And now that he's promoting "Steve Jobs," he added that the plan was to begin filming in May or June, but Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle had scheduling conflicts.

But that doesn't mean that the shoot will be delayed. In fact, Boyle is planning to push forward. He'll just have to get the film done before Miller and Carlyle have to leave, which may end up being only a seven-week shoot.

"They only get this little window off, so either you wait for the contract to run down, which could be as late as three years, or you kind of try and do it in this window," he said. "But all four lads [Ewan McGregor, Miller, Carlyle and Ewen Bremner] are back in."

Since "Trainspotting" will be celebrating its 20th anniversary next year, Boyle is planning to complete the sequel and release it in 2016. "We're doing it for less than $20 million, and that'll give us control of the film so we can make the film we want to make," he added.

Ugly, dirty, drug-addicted Brits. Really, what sort of mentally-diseased failure of a human being enjoys watching these kinds of films?

Not me, that's for sure.

Trainspotting is a great film and like most films better off without a sequel. After all Porno isn't as good a book as Trainspotting was.

Jonny Lee Miller with a scheduling conflict?? What? Walmart won't give him the weekend off to shoot his one scene?

@Badchode

Since you must live under a rock, Jonny Lee Miller has been playing Sherlock Holmes on Elementary on CBS the last 3 years and is currently shooting the 4th season.

@Badchad

Lol, old ppl dig all those detective/police procedural shows on CBS. That's why they stay on for so long.

I bet that Elementary ain't goin' nowhere and will be on for at least 7 seasons minimum. Sometimes it is very watchable.

What **does** suck though is that Person of Interest was renewed for a 5th and final season of only 13 episodes which is only being done to get it to 100 episodes so it can be syndicated everywhere.

PoI is a genuinely good and creative show that deserves more seasons. Seeing it get the Fringe treatment is disheartening to say the least.

Deaft- I understand that. You are right about the older people keeping series like elementary around longer than they should be. I honestly don't get to watch much TV though.

@Deaft

I love that Person of Interest sh*t. Buddy hounded me about that show until I finally checked it out. I binge watched the first 3 seasons. I wish they could have called the show Harold and Jesus. So pissed that it's only getting 13 episodes for a last season. No one f*cks wit de Jeeezus!!

Mink you're a f*cking parrot spouting the sh*t day in a day out. Get a f*cking life! Trainspotting is one of the best films ever made!!
