Wesley Snipes Met with Marvel About "Blade 4"

Wesley Snipes Met with Marvel About "Blade 4"Submit Comment
When Wesley Snipes was released from prison and "Blade" rights reverted back to Marvel, fans started wondering whether there was a chance to see Snipes return for "Blade 4."

In a new interview with Deadline, the actor confirmed that he recently had a meeting with Marvel about just that. "The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things," he said. "I don't know where it's on their schedule at this point, that hasn't been decided. I guess it's still up in the air."

The first "Blade" movie was released in 1998 and grossed $131 million worldwide. The sequel followed in 2002, grossing $155 million on a budget of $54 million. "Blade Trinity" was then released in 2004 and earned $129 million on a budget of $65 million. So a fourth film with an aging star seems incredibly unlikely to happen.

Wes is too old. He might make a nice mentor character, or even a villain, but they need a fresh face. They need a big buff black dude with nothing to do with his free time and a penchant for violence. Just check the local ghetto for availability.

Better yet, make Blade white.

"Wesley Snipes Met with Marvel About "Blade 4""

Translation: Wes the felon went begging for work.

"I don't know where it's on their schedule at this point, that hasn't been decided. I guess it's still up in the air."

Translation: they don't give a f*ck about you or Blade (at the moment).

Time to start showing up at Sly's door with flowers in one hand, KY in the other, Snipes.

Wesley Snipes in Blade 4 as he battles the money sucking IRS.

The first 'Blade' worked mainly because of Stephen Norrington who had huge potential but retired from directing after the failure of 'LXG' (very underrated movie).

As Mink said,Snipes is too old but I can see him as a side kick.

Couldn't get into League of Extraordinary Men....way too lethargic a plot. The action just didn't work and all of the characters seemed wholly rushed. Interesting idea but would've done better in more action-competent hands.
