Tilda Swinton is The Ancient One in Marvel's "Doctor Strange"

Tilda Swinton is The Ancient One in MarvelSubmit Comment
Marvel is currently in talks with Oscar-winner Tilda Swinton (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Snowpiercer) to join Benedict Cumberbatch in the upcoming "Doctor Strange" superhero film, to be directed by Scott Derrickson (Sinister).

The movie revolves around Strange, a cocky surgeon who loses the use of his hands, and while on a last ditch attempt to heal himself, discovers magic. Strange's mentor is a Tibetan mystic known as the Ancient One, who is training pupils to be the next sorcerer supreme. Swinton will play the Ancient One.

In the comics, the character has been a male, and Marvel initially was searching for a male actor. But the studio rethought the role and has now made it female.

"Doctor Strange" will begin shooting in November and hit theaters on November 4th, 2016.

Tilda Swinton, the woman-thing who made a million men gay, I'll bet. Does she ever play a charcter with heart and warmth? She's either a cold personality or some type of witch/ice monster type creature. She's more typecast than Tim Burton's wife.

So they hired a wooden board with David Bowie's face instead. Gotcha.

Well, this is interesting. I wonder, will she have a 2 foot long skinny moustache?

Meh. Call me when she's cast in the David Bowie biopic.

This is another messed attempt by Marvel. Why not let Bryan Singer rewrite this script too and let the old man Stan Lee get his normal 2 lines in to make it another epic fail.

Well.. she sure got the looks for it.
She looks ancient as hell..

The only thing I can ever think about when I hear her stupid name is that she once took a nap...in a museum...under a glass case...and called it "performance art." That's Yoko Ono levels of pretentious right there. What a c*nt.

Well, now she can take the odd claim of being in the DC/Marvel Club: Actors or actresses that have been in a movie based on DC characters and also in movie based on Marvel characters .... case in point: She was in "Constatine" and now considered for "Doctor Strange".
