Brad Bird Says "The Incredibles 2" is His Next Film

Brad Bird Says "The Incredibles 2" is His Next FilmSubmit Comment
Brad Bird is the Oscar-winning director of such animated films as "The Iron Giant," "The Incredibles" and "Ratatouille." But recently he's been focusing on live-action movies like "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" and the upcoming "Tomorrowland."

Now that he's promoting the May 22nd release of "Tomorrowland," Bird revealed that his next project will be "The Incredibles 2" and that he has already written "a bunch of pages" of the script.

"I had a lot of ideas for the original 'Incredibles' that I didn't get a chance to use, that I like," Bird told Collider. "I have ideas that I wanted to pursue a little bit, and there wasn't enough time in 'Incredibles.' There are new ideas I have, and I think there are enough of those together to make an interesting movie."

As soon as "Tomorrowland" is released, Bird said that he will start "playing with the 'Incredibles' sandbox again." He is, however, already looking toward other projects, like a "Star Wars" movie.

"I was particularly attracted to the idea of picking up [a film in the franchise], and JJ [Abrams] got very excited about the notion of shaping the next trilogy, and that idea was interesting to me too," he explained. "But I'm writing [the 'Incredibles' sequel], and I can't think too much farther beyond that."

Maybe better source the original article, but I'm having a hard time finding where he says he's making Incredibles 2.

Tomorrowland looks like a mildly-performing movie and perhaps his worst flick yet. Could be wrong. Doesn't seem to do much for me, though.

What took you so long, Mr Bird?? The incredibles is definitely the only Pixar sequel worth doing and watching.

All those other dumb movies just to get started on a sequel?...Craig T. Nelson isn't getting any younger and if he gets replaced I'm not watching it

By dumb I meant mission impossible ghost protocol, Ratatouille was an awesome film

Ghost Protocol is the best Mission:Impossible film in the series.

Craig T. Nelson just finished 5 seasons of Parenthood on NBC and is now shooting a new season of COACH for at least 13 episodes.

So I assume he is well enough to say lines into a microphone for a few days for an Incredibles sequel.
