"Fantastic Four" Director Fired From "Star Wars" Spin-Off

Posted: May 2nd, 2015 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"Fantastic Four" Director Fired From "Star Wars" Spin-OffSubmit Comment
About a year ago, it was announced that Josh Trank (Fantastic Four, Chronicle) was hired to direct the second "Star Wars" spin-off. But during the recent "Star Wars" celebration, Trank was the only one who didn't make it, with Disney claiming that the helmer was sick.

According to several sources, Trank wasn't sick. In fact, the studio was considering ending its relationship with him. Now comes word that Disney has decided that it no longer wants Trank involved with the "Star Wars" franchise.

In an official press release, Trank explained that it was his decision to quit in order to "pursue some original creative opportunities." But insiders claim that the situation has to do with Trank's behavior on the sets of "Fantastic Four" and "Chronicle."

"Fantastic Four" producers revealed that Trank was "erratic" and "very isolated" while shooting the film. He didn't offer clear direction and often couldn't answer questions. Instead, he would go into hiding.

20th Century Fox is happy with "Fantastic Four," but admits that there were plenty of bumps in the road, including the time Trank left his three dogs in an apartment that was rented for him during production. The dogs caused over $100,000 worth of damage and Trank wanted the production to pay for that, something Fox refused.

It was a similar situation on "Chronicle." Producers say that Trank is very talented, but doesn't have basic skills to work in a team environment, like being decisive or communicating.

On both films, producers had to step up and make sure the projects are completed. And this is something Disney doesn't want to deal with.

The "Star Wars" spin-off is still moving forward as planned. A new director will soon be announced.

Trank got tanked. Sounds good to me. Anyway, Tranks for leaving.

This is why you hire well-known and proven directors, not asocial and immature people who miraculously make one-hit wonder flicks. Good thing Fantastic Four is a bigger budgeted version of Chronicle, at least.

A few years from now no one will even remember the name Josh Trank, just like the guy who did Donnie Darko.

You mean "Tranks for playing.".

The way you said it sounded f*cking stupid.

Blaming it on the dogs.. Real Class act, Mr. Trank !!
Admit it was the coke and prostitutes that caused the apartment damages !!
Is it possible that someone got cold feet after watching the FF reboot ?!

Fired?

He left, Alex, before you copy and paste news, make sure you get the right one.

Avengers was pretty good. The twins work with ultron at first but realize his intentions. Ulysses shows up and gets his kicked by ultron. Quicksilver dies. The vision is made from the scepter. There was a few hints, to other marvel characters like black panther and guardians characters.

Stay for for the post credit Scene, thanos shows up.... Again and says something silly... Again and get the hand for 6 infinity gems.

All in all it was pretty good. But if did feel rushed specially mick gurus character. Oh the hulk is dating black widow???? Wtf to that!

Enjoy the films guys I did but I had to go high as hell.

Ironman created ultron btw. But the vision kills him.

And there will be a .3rd unfortunately because thanos shows up at the end... Again.

True Detective Season 2 is 8 episodes. I read an article several months ago that mistakenly said it would be 10 episodes.

FF director ought to be fired from a cannon... into an even bigger cannon... which is then pissed on by an angry albatross... who's father was a crossdresser... that's the only way these people will learn.
