Martin Scorsese to Direct Jamie Foxx in Mike Tyson Biopic

Martin Scorsese to Direct Jamie Foxx in Mike Tyson BiopicSubmit Comment
Back in 2008, Mike Tyson revealed that he has been speaking with Jamie Foxx about the actor portraying him in a biopic. Two years later, Foxx said that he would be interested in taking the role.

Then last summer, it was officially announced that a Mike Tyson biopic was in the works that Foxx will play the boxer. Tyson later said that he'd heard talks of Martin Scorsese directing the film, adding that the same technology that was used on "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" will be used to turn Foxx into Tyson at different ages.

And now, Foxx confirmed to a radio station that Scorsese will indeed direct the biopic. "I just went in with Paramount with Mike Tyson," said the actor. "So I'm going to do the Mike Tyson story. Listen, to be in the same room pitching Mike Tyson to Paramount, Mike Tyson is on one side, I'm on the other side and doing Mike Tyson at the same time. And Martin Scorsese at the helm. This will be the first boxing movie that Martin Scorsese has done since 'Raging Bull.'"

The script is written by Terence Winter, who worked with Scorsese on "The Wolf of Wall Street."

I can see that, and it might be better than Mann's Ali.

On the other hand, there's only so much of a sweet-talking gap-toothed Jamie Foxx a person can take.

Just surprised it's not more gangster sh*t from Scorsese.

Can't wait for Tyson's two career highlights: raping the bitches and biting that dude's ear off.

At least it wasn't Doctor Phlox.

Should have hired Lindsay Lohan. What's she got that Jamie Foxx ain't got? AIDS!

Did this post REALLY start with Minkowski actually saying something NOT insulting about a movie? Like, like, uhh err uhh compliment? End of times are near...

Well actually, if you look at the evidence from his so called trial. It's clean and clear that he didn't get a fair one. Most of the jurors have said so and also the people whose testimony was kept from court.it's actually a disgrace to the people who actually do get raped.

"Did this post REALLY start with Minkowski actually saying something NOT insulting about a movie?"

Actually he said it might be better than Ali, not necessaeily good, and then insulted in the next post.

Dumb ass.

Well, this definitely has the potential to be a terrific movie.

Tyson was and remains the most dominant champion in the history of this sport, and a deeply troubled and complex human being.

Definitely looking forward. Foxx might be too old though.

Marty should really get I Heard You Paint Houses made first before Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, or Joe Pesci keel over and croak.

@pornfly

Exactly, and iirc, that movie ended with him getting knocked the f*ck out by Buster Douglas and that's definitively all anyone ever needs to know about Mike Tyson.

Everything he's dabbled in since then has been glaringly unremarkable. No one really cares about the musings of a mildly retarded man-child that really has nothing to say.

Although I will admit that I enjoy Mike Tyson Mysteries on Adult Swim.

Expect Spike Lee to start bitching about a white director on a biopic of a black man. He did the same when Ali was announced.
