Neill Blomkamp Clarifies His "Alien 5" CommentsSubmit Comment
After it was announced that Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium) will be directing a new "Alien" film, the helmer revealed that his movie will take place after "Alien" and "Aliens."

Many assumed that he'll completely ignore the existence of "Alien 3" and "Alien: Resurrection," but Blomkamp has now clarified his comments, stating that he will not play around with the franchise's continuity.

"I'm not trying to undo 'Alien 3' or 'Alien Resurrection,'" he confirmed. "My favorites are the first two movies. I want to make a film that's connected to 'Alien' and 'Aliens.' That's my goal."

It sounds like his installment will take place between "Aliens" and "Alien 3," but it's also possible that Blomkamp has something else in mind. Stay tuned.

Clarify the fact that I will never watch the Roboy Guy make an unwanted to a series that absolutely peaked ages ago with Aliens and neither will a lot of people.

I gave the guy some sh*t a couple posts down with the initial announcement. But if he's looking to do an "alternate" sequel (or sidequel) without screwing up franchise continuity, to that I am a bit more accepting and open-minded.

He's still a criminally OVERrated, one-note filmmaker, though.

Not overrated at all. All you can say is all his films have a political undertone. He's Science Fiction meets Spike Lee.That is his only downfall. District 9 was a great script, Elysium was mediocre and Chappy looks like an adult version of Short Circuit.All three films are based on short films he made. With someone else writing the script he could be v good.His art direction and use of sfx are the best out there full stop. Nolan is the only one that comes close. And personally Nolan's art direction lacks character.

@Deaft0ne
I'm telling you man! Ripley from Alien 3 was a clone made to experiment on Alien DNA and than letting it run wild in a prison colony where no one but sc*m could be hurt. The real Ripley and Hicks and Newt will wake up and find themselves in a Weyland lab, lost decades of their lives, and Ripley decides to end the Alien strain once and for all! On and Beihn gets to finally show Fox why they never should have canned him. LOL

I love his idea - the only problem is that both Weaver and Bihen are old now.If this was made 20 years ago it would have been awesome.
