American Sniper has no chance whatsoever. Just saying.

Probably Birdman since it's favored this year.

Or Selma to appease and patronize the blacks.
Minkοwski writes:

Visual Effects category this year is looking a little light in the pants. Three comic book movies and two lightweight sci-fi nothings.

I'm actually starting to miss practical effects.
Minkοwski writes:

Big Hero Six for Best Animated Film.

Just saying.

Sup. Actress - Arquette

Actor - either Redmayne or Keaton pulls an "Adrien Brody".

btw has anyone seen American Sniper?

How the salty f*ck did this thing managed to get nominated for anything?

Actors were admittedly great (most of the anyway).

But Clint, sadly, f*cking lost it big time, and that screenplay...

Also LOVED Expendables 3-level sound and visual effects and CGI squibs (not only bullet squibs - walls too).

Confucius writes:

Alex. Who f*cking cares?
Minkοwski writes:
on February 22nd, 2015 at 10:50:15 PM

Figured Big Hero would win. No real comp. Good little movie. Didn't hurt that the story and characters were/are totally endearing.

And Interstellar for VFX...no surprise. No comp there either. Not that its VFX was/is exceptional, just distinct. Didn't hurt that Nolan is a honored Hollywood Son.

Oh, and @Alex: it's The Awards IS, not the Awards ARE. The such and such Academy Awards is a collectively singular thing. You get it right when you say the "list is", but wrong as aforementioned.

"The Academy Awards...is an annual American awards ceremony"

@Deaft0ne
"Birdman" deserved it's wins and Keaton should have won. Redmayne had the physical acting on his side but otherwise his role wasn't anything superior to Keaton in character. Oh well, it's like his director said in his speech. It's about if your film stands the test of time...and people sure as hell will remember "Birdman" more than "Theory of Everything".
Rambo_redux writes:

I'm just glad 'Faghood' was left out with almost nothing.would have been awesome if 'Whiplash' would have surprised everyone and taken 'Best film' but what the hell.

Wrong thread but they should have a black actor play Indiana jones or a brit since Americans are useless.even chris hemsworth

Definitely did not expect Eddie Redmayne to win an Oscar for his performance in Jupiter Ascending. I mean I know its difficult to play a disabled character, but still.
Jigga_Watts writes:
on February 23rd, 2015 at 2:52:41 AM

@Avirex why u suprised? all u gatta do is follow the equation gimp/retard + biography = OSCAR.
Bandolero998 writes:

Usually a script is finalized before filming even begins. Not really sure why the original ending is no longer acceptable but the article, per usual
Bandolero998 writes:

They always trash the movies people hate. If everyone had loved AFTER Earth, Smith would too. Just another sign that most people, celebs included, cannot think for themselves.

Confucius writes:

Surprised "Boyhood" got shafted for Best Director.

Though Inarittu did get the DGA.

"Definitely did not expect Eddie Redmayne to win an Oscar for his performance in Jupiter Ascending. I mean I know its difficult to play a disabled character, but still"

Good one.

Oh, Harris was pretty terrible.

Dude's gay and all, but still he was so far up his ass Travolta took a cue (also literally took a cue).
Rambo_redux writes:

apparently Neal Patrick Harris gave one of the most atrocious performances as a host in the history of the oscars.

dude should stick to making guest appearances in harold and kumar movies as laughing at himself.

Well now there's one for prison rape on the second article. Hope that f*cker used a proxy, or as I like to call them, a digital condom.

Some men just want to watch the world burn, I guess.

Anyway, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a blast. Caught it Saturday night up in La Jolla I think, and damned the tickets were expensive but worth it, if you go for that Micheal Bay sh*t. Lots of lens flares, per Bay, and lots of ridiculous action, but no Casey Jones, whom I hope appears in the sequel. Not nearly as good as the original film, but perhaps more true to the cartoons in some ways
DarthMaul writes:
on February 23rd, 2015 at 9:06:03 AM

All a bunch of mediocre films. Just shows what a dire state the industry is in. How can Bradley Cooper be nominated for an oscar when he said about 25 words in the whole of American Sniper.
