Best picture is going to go to boyhood cus people like that sh*t for some reason. I felt Michael Keaton was good but not as good as Jake Gyllenhaal who isn't even nominated. Eddie redmaayne or however its spelled will win.

Rosamund pike should win but she wont and Essie Davis had one of the best performances this year in the Babadook, but the academy won't recognize that.

Can't wait for next years Oscars when Daniel Day Lewis wins for portraying Uncle Remus from Song of the South and Meryl Streep wins something for playing an older gal who has a hard day cus thats Wat I wanna see when I go to the movies. Meryl Streep with dam menopause.

'faghood' will win for sure.

50 min into 'Taken 3' - not bad,better then 'Taken 2' that's for sure.

All the black ppl and white ass-kissers of black ppl are bitching about Selma only getting nominated for Best Picture and Song but Selma was just not that great of a movie.

David Oyelowo was decent as MLK Jr. but the film around him was way too melodramatic and felt like a TNT Original™ movie through and through.

The direction was very overwrought and ham-fisted and everyone else over-acted and was unrealistically making declarations about everything or mini-speeches in nearly every scene.

Also Tom Wilkinson was grossly miscast as LBJ and he was inaccurately portrayed in the film as well.

THOSE are the reasons why it was largely snubbed by the Academy. It's not a great film. It's not even a good one. It's essentially a by-the-numbers drama about the Civil Rights Voting Act that could have been directed by anyone.

The other films this year were simply better. Even other films that were mostly ignored like Nightcrawler, Interstellar, Kill the Messenger, and A Most Violent Year were better than Selma.

Kill The Messenger was great.

@Rambo. Think about this. A movie called faghood would be more interesting. What if the gimick was the same and they used the same kid for all those years but the plot is a child growing up discovering he is actually gay and dealing with the confusion and bullying. That right there is a movie that could be controversial to people, and actually has a plot unlike the real boyhood. Faghood.. to deep throat or not to deep throat.

Of course faghood is going to win cus the critics loved seeing the fav antics of the boy throughout his life. Age 12 fagboy discovers his vagina. Age 14 fagboy discovers boy george.

They should make the sequel called c*nthood

Craptastic boyhood is gonna win a bunch.

And Taken 3. 6/10 for me. Hated all those scenes where he survived but should have died 1000 times over. Mans not bulletproof lol

The worst f*cking snub of all is no nomination for Hoyte Van Hoytema for Interstellar. Say what you want about the narrative but the cinematography was absolutely astounding and deserved the Oscar for it. Hopefully it wins best visual effects.

Aside from Birdman the other nominees are very average looking films. I have no idea what the f*ck "Ida" is but it seems like it got nominated as a f*ck you to Interstellar for some odd reason.

Inherent Vice should have been nominated for cinematography also. It's a great looking film like all PT Anderson pictures shot by Robert Elswit.
Deaft0ne writes:

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ida_(film)

So Ida actually came out in 2013 and it's a foreign film that nobody saw. Definitely a f*ck you to Interstellar to nominate it instead.
KillerCOck writes:

American Sniper and Foxcatcher are a couple of the worst pictures of the year! How the f*ck did they get nods at all?
Deaft0ne writes:
on January 15th, 2015 at 7:08:33 PM

@JB

I agree. Kill the Messenger was a great film but gets ignored by the Academy because it makes the CIA look bad by showing how f*cking corrupt they were.

But a film like Argo, which fictionalized half of it's story and makes the CIA look good, goes on to win Best Picture.
Deaft0ne writes:
on January 15th, 2015 at 7:09:57 PM

How corrupt they were during that period.*

Mentioning that crap along the Acadey Awards is an abomination.

The Babadook.. f*cking hated it and it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated.
