Liam Neeson Would Return for "Taken 4"

Liam Neeson Would Return for "Taken 4"Submit Comment
The original "Taken" film turned Liam Neeson into an action star and became a big hit with earnings of $227 million worldwide on a budget of $25 million. It was never written with sequels in mind, but it didn't take long for a sequel to go into development.

Despite a bit of hesitation from Neeson, "Taken 2" followed three years later and earned $376 million worldwide. It was clear that fans wanted more from the franchise, but would Neeson return for a third installment?

It took a lot of convincing and a paycheck of $20 million to bring back the actor. And now that "Taken 3" is in theaters, it's becoming clear that the film is already on its way to becoming a huge success. In its first weekend, the movie grossed $40 million domestically and another $50 million internationally, which is twice as much as its budget.

Neeson was so against returning for the third film that posters for "Taken 3" took on a tagline that states: "It Ends Here," pointing out that this is the last installment in a very popular franchise.

But while promoting the new movie, Neeson surprisingly revealed that he would consider returning for "Taken 4." He said: "I think if audiences go and see it and they like these characters... I mean, I'd love to do something with Forest [Whitaker] again, and if it's in a 'TAKEN 4' scenario, great."

Of course he would because money talks.

Taken 2 was, is definitely the worst of the three. Horrible plotting, horrible action, entirely forgettable. Having his daughter play sidekick was a lame attempt to upturn the apple cart of the first film, and it didn't work at all.

Still haven't seen the third, but if the critics hate it and the audiences don't, it must be an irreverent thrill-ride.

@Tan

It's watchable if you accept that it's a live-action cartoon that totally ignores reality.

The first 2 were fine but this one is borderline parody.

One scene as an example has Liam in a ridiculous car chase on the freeway in a police car and by pure luck he causes numerous cars to crash and flip and culminating with a cab of a semi flipping and flying like in Live Free or Die Hard except for 10-12 seconds longer.

He then drives to a building with a parking garage and goes to the top, *backs into* an open elevator shaft, deliberately trapping himself as the car falls down, you see him still in the car, it explodes, and engulfs every floor in flames.

*THE NEXT SCENE SHOWS LIAM NEESON ON THE PHONE LOOKING PERFECTLY CLEAN AND UNHARMED NEXT TO A CHARTER BUS CALLING FOREST WHITAKER TO SAY HE IS INNOCENT OF KILLING HIS WIFE.*

There is zero explanation for how he survived the car exploding nor showing how he got to where he was on the phone. No one is shown reacting to nor putting out the fire at all.

This kind of sh*t happens throughout the entire movie.

Near the end Liam shoots this Russian mercenary/mafia guy twice on his stomach area and he is in an open robe an underwear BUT THE BULLETHOLES NEVER BLEED! He then dies without ever bleeding.

So Tan, be prepared for TAKEN:The Animated Series.
