Michael Keaton in Talks for "King Kong" PrequelSubmit Comment
After a great performance in "Birdman," Michael Keaton is now in talks with Legendary Pictures to join the upcoming "King Kong" prequel, called "Kong: Skull Island."

If the deal works out, Keaton will star alongside Tom Hiddleston (Thor) and JK Simmons (Whiplash). The new movie is directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and is set to hit conventional, 3D and IMAX 3D theaters on March 10th, 2017.

"Kong: Skull Island" promises to fully immerse audiences in the mysterious and dangerous home of the iconic ape as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the treacherous, primordial island.

Why?

Keaton would have been great as a scientist type character in Jurassic World. He has that look that says Micheal Crichton.

Anyway, nothing against Keaton or the remaining cast, but does the world need another movie about some dumb gigantic ape running amok? Just watch reruns of Mike Tyson's boxing career.

Anyone seen Birdman, Mink? I'm hearing great things, especially about Keaton's performance

Sounds like decent casts. If they doin' it right, it is most likely they don't even need that stinkin' ape.

Good for him. His performance in Birdman was outstanding. Besides, he's the only real Batman.

Just finished watching Birdman, it was the most ambitious and entertaining comedy/drama I've seen in a long time, 9.5/10

Birdman was absolutely fantastic and should win best picture. A very engaging meta-film about performance itself. Michael Keaton is awesome and the film appearing as if it is one continuous take was done even better than Enter the Void.

10/10
