Disney has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming "McFarland, USA" sports drama, starring Kevin Costner and Maria Bello. It's directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider) and is set to hit theaters on February 20th, 2015. Check out the trailer below.
Plot: Inspired by the 1987 true story, "McFarland, USA" follows novice runners from McFarland, an economically challenged town in California's farm-rich Central Valley, as they give their all to build a cross-country team under the direction of Coach Jim White (Costner), a newcomer to their predominantly Latino high school.
Coach White and the McFarland students have a lot to learn about each other but when White starts to realize the boys' exceptional running ability, things begin to change. Soon something beyond their physical gifts becomes apparent — the power of family relationships, their unwavering commitment to one another and their incredible work ethic.
With grit and determination, the unlikely band of runners eventually overcomes the odds to forge not only a championship cross-country team but an enduring legacy as well. Along the way, Coach White realizes that his family finally found a place to call home and both he and his team achieve their own kind of American dream.

There was this other Costner sports movie, IIRC, and it put me to sleep. Same thing here.

Sorry, they all sucked, especially Tin Cup and Field of Dreams.
But I was actually thinking of Draft Day.

Is this...is this a gay sequel to Gran Torino?

Costner should stick to serious dark roles like Mr.Brooks and 3 days to kill.
everything else he does is a waste of time.

^^^Mr Brooks was f*cking great, but I never saw Three Days to Kill.
Would you actually recommend that movie?

Let's see, what sh*tty movies have I watched....
Guardians of the Galaxy....good-looking, occasionally funny, and breezily-paced, but ultimately forgettable. Even the villain went out like a cliched Sith Lord bitch.
Captain America 2....vastly more enjoyable than the first film even if the damned conclusion isn't nearly as epic as one would expect or desire.
Gone Girl...an ugly, idiotic, and insipid mess from the guy who brought us Fight Club almost twenty years ago. I believe Fincher directed a few flicks since then, but damned if I can name them.
Waiting for the Interstellar bluRay from my buddy Yify.

3 Days to kill was actually a pretty solid film. It mostly boiled down to a father-daughter film but Costner gave a solid performance and the action was well-done and the emotional scenes were pretty good.

^^Good deal. I'll put it on my list, Sleuth.
