Ryan Reynolds Confirmed to Return for "Deadpool"Submit Comment
20th Century Fox recently announced that it's moving forward with a "Deadpool" film, based on a character played by Ryan Reynolds in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

During the announcement, we also learned that Tim Miller will be directing from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland) and that the film will hit theaters on February 12th, 2016. The only piece of information left out is whether Reynolds will reprise the lead role.

And now comes word that Reynolds has officially signed his deal to return. The actor confirmed this by posting an image of Deadpool's face made out of bullets, adding: "It's Chimichanga Time."

Reynolds, too, is perfect for this role.

Good thing here is we won't have to watch him struggle with much actual acting.

His performance won't be much more than wisecracks and asinine retorts, which seems to be his only strong suit.

Wow...Marvel's really racking up the great films versus DC. Deadpool, Doctor Strange, even Antman all look to be vastly better than anything DC has made, outside Nolan's films, and I'd argue flicks like GotG are far more enjoyable and have higher replay value than even TDK, DC's current finest.

It's fun to watch Marvel churn our one high-value entertaining movie after another while DC regales audiences with Facebook Man as Luthor, Cardboard Man as Superman, that chicken-boned bitch as Wonder Woman, and Buttchin d*ckface as Batman, all helmed in a corral of sh*t by the guy who directed a film revolving around skimpily-clad candystripers pooping off Uzis against a nauseating sea of green-screen.

Good luck with that!

The only character he was meant to play. A fast-talking action junkie with zero boundaries and full of pop culture cracks. That's Reynolds bread and butter. Good for him. Now if only Thomas Jane came back as Punisher. Given that Reynolds is returning after being in a version that doesn't even count in the X-Men film universe anymore, I actually wouldn't rule it out. This news gives me hope for that hopeful news. LOL

Do you think an edit button was needed for that one? I think you made your point pretty clear. LOL

@Sleuth

Well Edgar Wright is possibly the director for Star Trek 3. Also he has a good working relationship with Simon Pegg. After being ousted from Ant-Man, this could be a good development.

Sleuth- well as long as my points clear. Lol

@Deaft0ne
If Wright might direct Star Trek 3 that be great although it feels a little mainstream for him. Ant-Man worked because it was such a cult-style hero with less than normal
Powers. Concept wise he could make Star Trek crazy in visual design but I worry he won't handle the drama side right. I mean he's definitely better than Orci who could care less about making it a Star Trek film as much as whatever he wants it to be so yes it's a good development.
