Michael Bay's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" reboot hit theaters in August and went on to gross $477 million on a budget of $125 million. Despite having a terrible 22% fresh rating on RottenTomatoes, a sequel was immediately greenlit.

Now comes word that Jonathan Liebesman will not return to direct and has been replaced with David Green, the helmer behind "Earth to Echo," which had a very modest $13 million budget.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" is set to hit theaters on June 3rd, 2016. Meanwhile, the first movie will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on December 16th.

Ugh. Why bother? The first one was nothing more than candy-colored cinematic puke.

If you want to watch a good live-action TMNT movie, watch the original. Even though it's more than two decades old, it features no modern CGI and some campy/cheesy action, but it's miles better than the sh*tty Bay-produced reboot, which was replete with lens flares, bright, dopey VFX, obnoxious explosions (like the The Island rip-off scene) and irritating synthetic camera moves.

Godf*ckingawful.

Not bad. I actually enjoyed the first one. Hate Fox all you want but she got the struggling reporter aspect pretty well. She surprised me. The problem was the story. It wasn't put together well and relied on lame pop culture references. The Batman joke was kind of good but my point is of they find a better scriptwriter we might have something here. Visually looked good and Fox wasn't a bad April. Just give the film some heart.
