"X-Men: Apocalypse" to Focus on Romance Between Mystique and Magneto

"X-Men: Apocalypse" to Focus on Romance Between Mystique and MagnetoSubmit Comment
"X-Men: First Class" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" were big hits for 20th Century Fox. But now comes word that the studio has bigger plans for "X-Men: Apocalypse," which involve giving more screen-time to the franchise's biggest stars.

According to THR, Fox will take full advantage of Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender's star power by placing Mystique and Magneto's romance front and center. Only time will tell if the plan will pay off.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will once again be directed by Bryan Singer and will feature Channing Tatum as Gambit. It's set to hit theaters on May 27th, 2016.

Dear god, not what anyone needs in a comic book movie: a love story for Mr. Forehead.

Sleuth will be excited as f*ck about this news!

@Deaft0ne
LOL f*ck you. You know that's a stupid thing to do in general. It's called "X-Men" not "Mystique & f*ck Buddies" or "Brotherhood with Advantages". How about focusing on the heroes that the movie is about and not the chick and guy who are usually the bad guys in the series.

of course it will.

It's directed by a homo who takes every single f*cking movie and turning it into some bullsh*t drama.

Gambit was done horribly last time, what on earth makes them think it'll be SOOOOO much better this time?....if they actually manage to get him to look as bad ass as he does in the comics or cartoon, there'd be a million more things wrong...I finally watched days of future past, but more questions were raised such as why is this new future now being postponed after supposedly all has been fixed in the story? except wait, no gambit with rogue, conflicting characters existing in different time periods than the comics...these studios act like the millions of fans don't know what happens in the comics...it's the same reason fans hate most book-to-film adaptations

And as much as The last stand couldn't measure up, the sentinal's head in the beginning looked more like the real deal, wtf 20th century fox?

@synthetic1985
Have you figured it out yet man? Fox doesn't give a sh*t! And fans don't really care. All the depth the X-Men have is wasted to accommodate the agenda of selling movie tickets. Screw the storylines, screw the fact it's called "X-Men", and screw the fact that half these characters are poorly interpreted versions of their comic book counterparts. Ironic, all the ones people complained about (James Marsden as Cyclops, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine), were probably some of the best interpretations. I just wish instead of taking the barebones concepts from the story, they actually develop some stuff! DOFP was a fun film, but a master film? Hell no! I hardly got any characters to root for. I miss "X2" quality so I hope they fix it soon. I hope that the originals comes back. I always hope for that because back then it was about the characters...now it's about the advertisement. f*ck Fox and Singer...actually not the latter. He'd enjoy it! LOL

Just remember that once Marvel sold off its properties to the movie conglomerates, it meant that the studios could do anything they want with them.

Why wont that ol'bitch at Fox leave our comic book movies alone and just cast her own movie for her own amusement that she can watch with her cats and vibrating tooth-brush?

@ sleuth, trust me I figured it out long since x3, I just enjoy complaining about it, I mean back to the future part 2 gave us a glimpse on Hollywood today, too many sequels reboots, and an increasing amount of emo style films in HD a.k.a. tween films but at least there's sentimental value in some films yet to be watched, like part 3 of the hobbit...probably one of the last films audiences will see that has a long history of entertaining readers, at least until some new genius writes a long and complicated and well structured story
Deaft0ne writes:

DoFP was a damn good X-Men film. Sleuth would bitch way less about it if any other actress had played Mystique instead of J-Law.

FACT!

@Deaft0ne
I said multiple times she was fine in the role. You just don.'to want to stop being a fanboy and admit the flaws in your film. I mean say what you want, you can attack me all you eant, but putting the two leads of the Beotherhood front and center when the film is called "X-Men" is both idiotic and frankly pathetic artistically.

@synthetic1985
People like Deaft are the reason these kinda of films can be made. Guys like him help fill the seats and make people think these movies are the best films we can get.

Was that from Burton's "Batman" between Vicki Vale and Bruce Wayne in the cave? Sounds familiar.

Might as well scrap the title 20th century fox, I mean if magneto and mystique are the front and center of the film why bother calling it apocalypse?...seriously misleading
