Green Day Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong to Lead Cast of "Geezer"Submit Comment
Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead singer of Green Day, has signed on to star in an upcoming film called "Geezer," co-starring Judy Greer, Selma Blair, Dallas Roberts, Chris Messina, Fred Armisen and Brian Baumgartner.

"Geezer" centers on the mid-life crisis of a husband and father who, on his 40th birthday, decides to revisit his punk-rock past by throwing an extravagant party in the presidential suite of the Drake Hotel where he encounters his beautiful ex-girlfriend and former bandmates who have since moved on to bigger and better things.

The new movie is directed by Lee Kirk and produced by Tim Perell, Alex A. Ginzburg and Tony Lee. "The initial seeds for 'Geezer' were planted a couple of years ago, when my son was born within weeks of my fortieth birthday," said Kirk. "Billie Joe Armstrong brings an exciting authenticity to the film. He's a dad, he's a musician and he's an incredible talent."

The film will include new songs written and performed by Armstrong. It's currently shooting in New York City.

Dookie is the third studio album by American punk rock band Green Day, released on February 1, 1994, through Reprise Records.[1] It was the band's first collaboration with producer Rob Cavallo and its major record label debut. Dookie became a worldwide commercial success, peaking at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 and charting in seven countries.[2][3] The album helped propel Green Day, and even punk rock music into mainstream popularity.[4]

Dookie produced five hit singles for the band: "Longview", "When I Come Around", "Basket Case", a re-recorded version of "Welcome to Paradise" and the radio-only single "She".[5] The album has garnered considerable acclaim, from its release to present day, winning Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 1995 and being ranked No. 193 on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.[6][7] As of 2013, Dookie is the band's best-selling album with more than 20 million copies sold worldwide.[8]

I hate to break it to Billie Joe but, you can wear all the guyliner you want and it still won't turn your sh*tty mediocre pop band into a real punk band.

If they got a cameo of Henry Rollins and Jack Grisham running over and stomping kicking the dog sh*t out of Billie, I'd watch it.
