"Star Wars: Episode VII" Unveils Official TitleSubmit Comment
JJ Abrams recently finished shooting "Star Wars: Episode VII," and as the film heads into production, Disney and Lucasfilm announced that the official title of the new installment will be "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens."

The new film, which picks up three decades after the events of "Return of the Jedi," brings back Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Kenny Baker (R2-D2), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and Anthony Daniels (C-3PO).

"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is set to hit theaters on December 18th, 2015.

God help JJ if this one is as bad as Phantom Menace...that "force" in the title will be put to good use by critics.

Pretty sure though JJ will at least deliver a decent SW film, although it's unlikely his venture will possibly compare to that of the series high-water mark of Empire.

Just keep the lens flares to a minimum dude. Everything else will take care of itself.

The Force Awakens? I didn't know it was asleep. Sounds more like a Viagra slogan.

The Ancient Fear was a better title.

The Force Awakens sounds like the title of another sh*tty Star Wars video game.

It kind of feels right now that I think about it. Kind of a parallel to "A New Hope".

This is ridiculous.

The force now sleeps apparently ?

What's next ?

VIII the force takes a sh*t.
IX the force go back to sleep.

They should have stuck with the ancient fear.

What's worst they dropped the episode vii from the title.

f*ck you with a passion Disney and jj abrahms. With. A. f*cking. Passion. *ssholes......bitches ..... Die you must.

I like it.

I'm assuming The Force "awakens" something in the film's protagonist--maybe Daisy Ridley or John Boyega's characters--or even Luke Skywalker if he's been awol for a while during the setting of the film.

f*ck all these dumbasses joking "The Force was asleep?"

The 'classic' STAR WARS films didn't use Episode numbers on their posters (STAR WARS: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI), but they did include the Episode #'s on the films themselves. I bet the opening crawl will have STAR WARS EPISODE VII: THE FORCE AWAKENS

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force is the Force, of course, of course.

If the rumours doing the rounds are true, that Luke is in self imposed exile and has gone mad, then that makes for a pretty decent story. Much better than him being "good" and teaching the new Jedi (boring) or him turning to the dark side (predictable).
