Christopher Nolan Hates Post-Credits Scenes, Here's Why

Christopher Nolan Hates Post-Credits Scenes, HereSubmit Comment
Some of the most popular and memorable parts of Marvel movies are post-credits scenes that sometimes hint at what's to come or are just meant to be funny. Either way, they are incredibly popular with fans.

This is why Warner Bros considered including its own post-credits scene in "Man of Steel," but eventually decided against it. Now comes word that it was Christopher Nolan who convinced the studio to not follow the Marvel model.

The Guardian explained: "When the studio asked if ['Man of Steel' director Zack] Snyder would add a comedy coda ending, in the style of Marvel, Nolan's reply was 'A real movie wouldn't do that.'"

Chris Nolan is my god.

I'm an ehteist, btw.

"Nolan's reply was 'A real movie wouldn't do that."

A real movie? So Nolan thinks his films are better than Marvel's? Probably, but he's taking himself far too seriously. Sure, he thinks his Batman films are more serius than Marvel's comic bookk movies, and I would agree, but that doesn't mean a film isn't "real" just because it has a small "coda" epilogue. That's just stupid. Not like an after-credits scene detracts from the body of the film itself.

Anyway, just Nolan's opinion. I disagree, but to each his own.

"that it was Christopher Nolan who convinced the studio to not follow the Marvel model."

Because "no after-credit scene" a new model makes?

?????

How's that working out for ya, DC?

Nolan is certainly not my god but he's definitely one of the best filmmakers nowadays. And they're are only very few of them.

Some might hate him but he's really talented and creative which is rare these days.

His best films are Memento, Batman Begins and The Prestige.

Haven't seen Interstellar but I'm hearing mixed opinions. Some say it's a beautiful, well-crafted flick, whereas others are saying it's cold, sterile and depressing.

Knowing Nolan and his choice of DPs, I'd say both, since he tends to have quality cinematographers but his his writing always lacks the human touch.

I may have to fire up BB this morning. Haven't seen it in a while.

That's funny as I saw Batman Begins for the 2nd time yesterday evening and it is the best of the trilogy.

so mr. christopher "serious" nolan thinks man of steel was a 'real' film, huh? it was pretentious, boring and stupid at the same time: the script was just bad, and the movie itself was even unable to introduce superman as a hero- it was even worse than the iron man 3 crap- which was, for me, the worst marvel studios film to date. despite the fact that he made two of the best films of that superhero genre (begins and tdk, of course), i think he just didn't get the thing that makes all those movies "cool and popular". and, as minkowski said, a small after credits scene never made any of those films worse (or better) than the others.

Serious though, post credit- scenes are fun and worth the wait...he is just being full of himself !!!
Sleuth1989 writes:

He just doesn't get it then. See while Man of Steel was suppose to set up DCCU, it came off as a one-off mess of Michael Bay action and almost copying Batman Begins in story structure and story elements. He's so convinced with realism he completely forgot to have imagination with it. He's an exceptional director but there is a reason Batman was the hero he chose because he could base it in reality.

So Nolan does not consider Masters of the Universe to be a real film?!?

Well f*ck him then!!

I'm with Fink here.

When it goes down to movie making, original story lines, writing and acting. His best is Memento.

I hate post-credits scenes myself.
Put them IN the movies instead, at the very end.

The writers are so dumb on this site. It's not just bad writing, it's bad thinking. A title that boasts "Christopher Nolan Hates Post-Credits Scenes, Here's Why" and offers no "why" is just f*cking ridiculous. I'm still waiting for why Nolan thinks a "real movie wouldn't do that." Why don't you answer that question before pretending you know the answer.

@Sleuth, bullit

Regarding fake Mink, go to the Kurt Russell first look in Bone Tomahawk thread that alex f*cked up the picture on.

Fake Mink says that he thought Kurt Russell died ten years ago which is a f*cking idiotic comment in and itself.

I then posted a link from last May 2013 where Kurt Russell was saying Escape From New York should not be remade. The original minkowski commented on this thread, which at the same time is also an acknowledgement that Kurt Russell is alive and well.

So this inane comment by "Minkowski" is proof that it is not the original minkowski because it is a blatant contradiction of the previous comment from the original account.

As a side note, "Minkowski" saying in the same thread "Matthew Fox? Decent actor from what I saw of him in Madea Goes to Detroit, but he's one ugly motherf*cker..."

Is completely laughable too because the original minkowski has discussed L O S T at length on here, which starred Matthew Fox as Jack Shepherd, so he definitely knew who he was before he was in the Alex Cross film with Tyler Perry.

Fake Mink is not clever enough to cover his tracks and continually contradicts past comments, opinions, and positions made by the original account.

Conclusion: "Minkowski" is a fake f*cking imposter.
