Alex Garland, the writer of such films as "The Beach," "28 Days Later," "Sunshine," "Never Let Me Go" and "Dredd," is making his directorial debut on a sci-fi thriller called "Ex Machina." And today we have the official trailer. Check it out below. Plot: The film follows a billionaire inventor who arranges for a young employee to spend a week at his home to test an artificially intelligent female robot that the inventor has constructed. "Ex Machina" is set to hit UK theaters on January 23rd, 2015. A US release will follow on April 10th.

As for this film...never liked Garland's writing, at all, and if he can get a directing gig, anyone can, but only if you have enough money to buy the prerequisite influence.

Seriously, how f*cked up do you have to be to want to f*ck a robot? How bad off in the dating department to you have to be to want to stick your d*ck in a machine instead of an actual woman?
This is probably not the best place to ask that question...
Anyway, looks like Transcendence meets I, Robot meets a thousand mopey romance movies wherein two guys contest the chance to bang one chick, except this time the chick is a heap of wires and plastic.
