First "Terminator Genisys" Photos, Plot Details RevealedSubmit Comment
Entertainment Weekly unveiled two of its upcoming covers, featuring characters from the upcoming "Terminator Genisys." Check them out below, as well as lots of plot details.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

The opening scene of the film is set in 2029 when the humans are fighting the Skynet system. John Connor (Jason Clarke) is the leader of the resistance and Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of post apocalyptic California. As in the original film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor's mother, Sarah (Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator programmed to kill her so that she won't ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on the other side is nothing like he expected.

That's where things become different. Sarah Connor isn't the woman played by Linda Hamilton in the original film or in the sequel. Rather, it's revealed that she was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she's been raised by Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) an older T-800 she calls "Pops" who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. As a result, Sarah is a highly trained anti-social recluse who's great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion.

"Since she was 9 years old, she has been told everything that was supposed to happen," said producer David Ellison. "But Sarah fundamentally rejects that destiny. She says, 'That's not what I want to do.' It's her decision that drives the story in a very different direction."

"Terminator Genisys" is directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) and is set to hit theaters on July 1st, 2015.

Do not have hopes for this at all

Seriously, that plot description sounds like it's going to be messier than it should be. As a matter of fact, to me the plot synopsis is vomit inducing.

What they f*ck are they going to do with this piece of sh*t franchise when it's 2029 already?

Reboot it farther forward in time? They go too far and they won't have any of the original narrative left, like, you know, Terminator went from USSR to Russia, so by the time to hey do a full reboot, they'll have to refer to The Eurasian Economic Union or some sh*t.

Jai Courtney.

BAWAHAHAHAHAHA!

And I thought Anton Yelchin was a low f*cking blow. This is like getting sucked off by Gary Coleman.

Based on these 2 covers, it doesn't look good at all! I mean the feeling is not right.

Emilia Clarke doesn't inspire me as a fighter like hamilton was but more like a teenager on the run. And Courtney, I really don't know...

Lol who the f*ck are these Jabronies?!?!

Paring an old has-been with a bunch of nobodies and a loser who is the definition of box office poison is not a great start to "saving" a billion dollar franchise.

Strange spin to the plot too. I can see a sh*tload of plot holes already being another nail in its coffin. Add in a non killing Arnold and the inevitable PG-13 rating (why else would you make the Terminator a non killing unit)and you've got a guaranteed recipe for complete disaster.

This is obviously something that was just made to make a buck before the rights reverted back to Cameron. Just like Salvation, another completely worthless waste of time.

But, but there's enough nods to the original films to keep the old fans happy, right?

@Sleuth
This is incredibly late, and off topic, but I guess it's still easier to keep a conversation going in the most recent posts. Gotham is bad, dude. It's so bad. The saddest part of that being that the worst parts of it are the characters who get the most attention. That jackass OC-guy playing Jim Gordon is an absolute insult to the character. Jada Smith is just awful. And that fat redheaded *sshole from 10 other failed shows who plays Gordon's partner is just painful to watch. As far as The Flash, saying something is a bad version of Smallville is almost as harsh as it gets, lol.
Deaft0ne writes:

@Attos

Gotham and The Flash are total trash. No one will cry when they get cancelled.
Deaft0ne writes:

TV execs need to quit d*cking around with a Batman seriea that does not feature Batman. Watching The Penguin acting like a gay douche in every ep is not compelling television.

Hey now! Smallville as a good show to start! They just carried it on for too long but that was supply and demand, not their fault. It still ended well. :)

GIVE UP ON THE TIME TRAVEL ALREADY I WANNA SEE A FULL OUT WAR AGAINST THE MACHINES

oups caps

salvation started out good but the mcg and michael bay started fighting on whos robots were better then t4 and tf2 ended up both been crap with stupid story lines
hurry up and get thr rights back to james cameron already maybe we'll get a good movies then but saying that cameron wont have finished avatar 4 till 2069 at the rate he works

so folks all that said i dont think we'll be getting a decent terminator for a long time :')
