Ewan McGregor Says "Trainspotting" Sequel to Shoot in 2016

Ewan McGregor Says "Trainspotting" Sequel to Shoot in 2016Submit Comment
Even though Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) wanted to make a sequel to "Trainspotting," Ewan McGregor would constantly refuse to reprise his role, claiming that he doesn't want to ruin one of his favorite movies.

But now that a good amount of time has passed, McGregor is not only open to returning, but is become increasingly eager. "It looks like it might happen," he said of the sequel. "The idea is that we shoot it in 2016, which would be 20 years after the original came out. And I'd be up for it. I wouldn't have been 10 years ago, but I am now."

Boyle previously confirmed that the sequel would be based on "Porno," Irvine Welsh's follow-up novel.

Pretty sure no one asked nor ordered a sequel to one of the worst and most disgusting Danny Boyle movies ever made. Really, like we just need yet another movie that depicts ugly, filthy street urchins and guttersnipes downing pills and shooting up. It just ain't cool or glamorous.

f*ck off.

Only losers think movies about drug addiction are cool. Big fat useless ugly stupid losers.

There, I said it. Now smoke on a pole, f*ckers.

There really hasn't been a film that glamorizes heroin lately.

Trainspotting is a great novel and still one of Danny Boyle's best films and the Porno novel is hilarious and would be a hell of a movie too.

Also, the reason why Ewan McGregor had turned down doing a sequel is because he was originally casted as the lead in The Beach but the studio had him re-cast with Leonardo Dicaprio.

Ewan was really upset about this and felt very betrayed because they were lifelong friends. He had not worked with Boyle again because of this.

Recently they patched things up and now they are able to move on with this sequel.

The Beach was, is another Boyle heap of sh*t. Basically the message is act like a c*cksucker to your family so you can hang out narcissistic douchebags on some island. Sure there's a deeper message supposedly but Garland's a sh*tty writer who can't pull it off.

No one who is a junkie in this film comes of very well, so to say it glamorizes Heroin use is idiotic.

If you don't want to watch this Mink then fine, seems like you don't want to watch anything which is coming out, but like the original there will be a huge following for this.

Mink - For someone who hates the majority of information that this site has, you seem to have a massive interest in it.

@pornfly

Thnx, alex is allergic to research. PORNO is set a decade after Trainspotting and back in the mid 00's there was talk of either James McAvoy or Cillian Murphy portraying Mark Renton in the film due to the rift betwixt Danny Boyle and Ewan McGregor.

PORNO the novel is set a decade after Trainspotting the novel. Not 20 years later.*

TRAINSPOTTING is a brilliant film. Boyle's direction is amazing.
f*ck off, Mink. You've never even watched the film, as I remember from past conversations. It's about drugs, but it's also about redemption.

"Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a f*cking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of f*cking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the f*ck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing f*cking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, f*cked up brats you spawned to replace yourself.

Choose your future."

Drugs aren't the only things to bring you to a low point in your life.
There are a lot of other things in life that can do this.
But superhumans like you are rare, never knowing how to empathise with other humans.

Aspergers sucks, don't it. I'm sorry for that.

Although one thing that no one ever mentions is that Trainspotting has 4 sets of characters. Only 1 set was in the film and it was Mark Renton and co.

Meh, to the third power.

If the sequel came out in 1997, I'd say, Great!

But now ?

I really couldn't give a rat's f*ck.

He obviously doesn't watch movies, otherwise he would see how ... popular ... "Filth" was ... then he'd shut his gob.

Hey I have asperger's...but I'm still able to stay on topic most times...I only have one concern if this sequel is to be made, and that would be the choice of songs for the soundtrack, I have this strong feeling the soundtrack will be an epic fail compared to the first film...however I may end up reading the follow up novel
