We recently showed you the first photo of Mark Wahlberg in his upcoming "The Gambler" film, for which he lost a whopping 61 pounds. And now, we have the official trailer. Watch it below.
In "The Gambler," Wahlberg plays a literature professor who is addicted to gambling. "I started at 196 and got down to 135," said the actor. "I began with a liquid diet. Then I completely changed my training program and gave up wine, bread and pasta. Now I'm eating small portions of protein throughout the day and jumping rope a lot."
The crime thriller is directed by Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and is set to hit select theaters on December 19th, likely to qualify for its Oscar run. It will expand on January 2nd, 2015.

Wahlberg is usually watchable, but only just so. Shooter was decent, for example, but Mark was little more than appealing Wahlpaper. Transformers 4....don't even remember him. And the other Michael Bay movie made him enjoyable simply because most of his acting was accompanied by slow-mo, ridiculous coloring and chase scenes.

Only 1 scene in Pain & Gain was a chase scene with slo-mo and that was the ending. It was briefly shown to open the film.

Looks like another story of a loser. I think I'll pass.
