Keanu Reeves Says Film Studios Don't Want to Work With Him

Posted: October 22nd, 2014 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Keanu Reeves Says Film Studios DonSubmit Comment
Keanu Reeves was once one of the biggest Hollywood names, mostly for his work on "The Matrix" trilogy, "Speed" and "Point Break," "Devil's Advocate" and many other films.

But in recent years, Reeves has been making independent films and none of them went on to become hits. As a result, the offers from major studios stopped coming. "It sucks, but it's just the way it is," said the actor. "The last studio movie I did was '47 Ronin,' but before that it had been a long time probably [2008's] 'The Day the Earth Stood Still.'"

Unfortunately, "47 Ronin" was a huge flop, grossing only $150 million worldwide on a budget of $175 million. And "The Day the Earth Stood Still" was a major disappointment.

But all that bad luck is seemingly about to change. His new "John Wick" movie will hit theaters on Friday (October 24th) and has a perfect 100% fresh rating on RottenTomatoes. He's also one of the contenders to take the lead role in Marvel's "Doctor Strange."

Don't blame them. He's BO poison.

Basically this article says it all...they pay him a lot, he stars in bloated budget films, and then they bomb. Outside The Matrix, he basically has no f*cking career, and I can count on one hand the number of movies he's made people give a sh*t about. Basically Bill and Ted, Point Break and The Matrix.

Even a robot is enjoyable three times in a lifetime.

Really looking forward to John Wick, looks great! But agreed with Mink on those 3 movies, but add in Speed too

Constantine was good too.

@Deaft0ne
Yeah people forget he actually has had a lot of good films but once he did Matrix it was like, "That's his peak."

@everyone
Everyone can say all they want he isn't a good actor but he seems to use the expectations of people to fit unique roles. his "Day the Earth Stood Still" was an excellent modern version of the 1951 classic, granted converted as an environmentalist's wet dream, but his "stone face" fit the separated, alien nature of the character very well. And with Constantine and 47 Ronin I had a blast with action and Japanese lore. People need to give him a break. It's not like he isn't making some fun films. And John Wick is kicking ass already so sounds good to me.

Why the misleading title :S

He's just always miscast but he's dope as long as he's suited for the role.

That's because the 'Earth Stood Still' and '47 Ronin' both had extremely sh*t directors. The first one was also ruined by Will Smith's sh*tty kid. Ronin fired it's director half way thru and was turned into a 3D mess.

Constantine is BY FAR my favorite comic book movie.

it'd be nice to see ted's dad come back for bill and ted 3...i think keanu reeves should look into some well thought up comedy films, note that i said 'well thought' because we have plenty of ones that are 2nd best and easily forgettable
