Channing Tatum Provides "Gambit" Update

Posted: October 16th, 2014 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Channing Tatum Provides "Gambit" UpdateSubmit Comment
Channing Tatum has been expressing interest in playing the X-Men character Gambit for many years. So when he was finally given the opportunity to play the superhero in a standalone film, Tatum jumped at the chance.

Now that the actor is promoting "The Book of Life," he spoke about "Gambit" and it's current status. "We're finding a writer and sort of beating it out," Tatum explained. "I don't want to give too much away, because we don't know that much right now other than who Gambit is. We really do want to try our hardest to give something fresh. We're obviously going to go to the saving the world superhero movies eventually, but maybe not for the first one. We want to introduce this character in a very different way. When you try to do something different, you never know right off the bat what that is. We're feeling our way and really have to just prove that concept of that person."

"Gambit" has yet to hire a director or a writer. While we're waiting for an official announcement, it's believed that the film will be released on July 18th, 2018, which is currently earmarked for an untitled Fox Marvel film.

Fans of Tatum and Gambit will likely not have to wait until 2018 to see the character in action. Director Bryan Singer has been hinting that Gambit will first appear in "X-Men: Apocalypse," which is set for May 27th, 2016.

I can't really take channing tatum seriously. Sure the movie sounds like a good idea, because Gambit is in fact awesome...but it feels like they are going to make it retarded somehow. like a 30 minute card game scene, a 30 minute heist scene, a 30 minute car chase scene, the end. we'll see in 4 years. until then, tatum better start coming out with better movies or a Gambit movie will be pointless with his dumb ass.

f*ck you taters!

The only Canned Taters update I want to hear is one regarding his death. Just because some old c*nt wants to have his surrogate baby doesn't mean the f*cker merits much attention or acclaim. And anyone can play Gambit. f*cker wears purple and throws cards. Hire f*cking Prince.

Is that aimed at me, if so that means Mink actually responded and acknowledged my comment, or should I say Alex did

So kinda guess that Mink is Alex!

I'm more intrigued on how bad they'll screw this up.

@propermelt

Quite concerned at how much you seem to care about Mink being fake and him replying to you. Quite sad really. But it looks to me as though real Mink is showing ya the door :)

I really don't understand why people bad-mouth this site, yet continuously visit/comment on almost all articles. Run your own website you f*cking *ssholes.

P.S. I can see the hate comments coming, saying I'm an Alex-run account. Trust, I ain't. I can actually spell ;)

Wow, well there's someone who proved me right! Someone pathetic enough to make an imitation account. It's actually really embarrassing how Alex just allows any pre-pubescent 12 year old to create an account. You learnt how to swear, bless.

True, I've let myself slip, I shall return to my positive banterful self! No more negativity or Mink comments, thank you Rabbit for showing me the way! Haha

Yeah sure, I'll run back down your Mothers hole, but it ain't little :)

Keep up your positive thoughts on terrible-looking films, sir.
