First Look at George Clooney's Mysterious "Tomorrowland" Sci-fi Film

Entertainment Weekly just unveiled the first photos from Disney's very secretive "Tomorrowland" sci-fi film, which stars George Clooney, and is directed by Brad Bird (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, The Incredibles) from a screenplay by Damon Lindelof (Prometheus, "Lost"). Check out the photos below.

Speaking to EW, Bird and Lindelof revealed the first plot details, stating that the story gets going when Casey Newton (Britt Robertson) finds a mysterious pin, which when touched unveils a place known as Tomorrowland.

"There is a piece of technology in this pin, it's the kind of old-school pin you would wear on your lapel, and when you make physical contact with it, you have the illusion of being physically transported to another world, and that's how Casey gets her first glimpse of Tomorrowland," said Lindelof.

Bird also spoke about Clooney's character, named Frank Walker, who is described as a hermit and failed inventor. "He's at this farmhouse, and it's probably the house he's grown up in. He hasn't done anything to it. He's done tech stuff inside it, but it's not a super cool bachelor pad. It's more like a guy who is retreating when something didn't go well," he explained. "There's something about George, you can see the wheels turning in his eyes, and he reads as somebody who is very principled. He seems like a very pragmatic guy who also dreams, but he's not flighty. There's an integrity to him that you feel."

Lindelof went on to talk about the founder of Disney. "Walt Disney is not a character in our movie, but he is referenced as having some involvement in this mysterious place called Tomorrowland, as a huge futurist and aficionado of space travel, rocketry, cities of the future, and space travel."

"Tomorrowland" is set to hit theaters on May 22nd, 2015.

@bullit

Lol@ 'mysterious bollocks', that just abour sums up Dumbass Lindelof perfectly.

Although with Brad Bird directing, hopefully he reigns some of Lindy's typical sh*t in and this is a decent film.

Wow. George Clooney has not aged gracefully. He is continually looking like a gaunt Hal Holbrook.
